I usually look at all the longevity of the products before purchasing the new tech stuff and while alot of the app (kia connect) I do find it a bit of a gimmick.

I had a shower thought this morning and while I understand the sim in the car is actually an "esim" it got me thinking...

- In another 10yrs time when we bring out all the other "G" services, whats the upgrade path for these older cars?

- What happens to the kia connect app when they decide its unmaintainable? Is this going to be another episode of the "Actron air" saga?

- I would also like to be able to turn off my telematics sometimes without having to go into a dealer. (Unless I've read the instructions wrong?)

- love to be able to talk to the car directly than over the internet or roll my own services and control from my home assistant (yes I'm one of those guys)

- also like to be able to download the data that kia is collecting

Since this is the only real built and app supported backup option for whatsapp, since the 30th July been wondering why whatsapp was not backing up etc (fold7) and yes I am aware there I could use sync thing or some other backup too which I'll setup as an alternative today.

For the last 3-4 days it gets to 80-90% and next minute its back to 2-3% or getting stuck or preparing backups

Checked for the latest version of whatspp

Cleared Cache of both google drive and whatsapp

Selected my second google account(one of them being a business plan)

Deleted backups in Google drive(s)

Backing up on 4/5G same results as a fibre 1000/400 and a 400/400 service?

Tried encrypted/unencrypted

Have >50gb free

Backup size is 11gb

Any other suggestions?

Had our Earth (AU) for a couple of weeks now, I'm a bit meh tbh.

I actually feel like we can get more range out of this thing as it just needs to be tuned.

We've done some short and long trips mostly mixed been eco and normal mode city and hwy driving and feel like it should have another 50-100km in it getting between 470-500km with about 5%left before the charge.

I get the whole drag topic, but I stop think it could be tuned a lot here after talking to a few friends at kia mentioning there have made a number of tuning improvements on the ev3 since launch, but nothing on the ev5.

Anyone else tuned theirs for distance rather than speed?

Yes tyre pressure checked and given a couple of extra psi

Eco mode used for most of its life so far.

Regen usually set at 3 or 4

No aircon or heating really used.
