Quality Advice

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to create high-quality prints where the layer lines are barely visible. The default 0.08, 0.12, and 0.16 High Quality profiles in OrcaSlicer and Snorca still seem a bit too fast for what I’m aiming for.

What speed values are you all using to achieve that perfect finish? Even though these profiles are meant to be slower, they still seem too fast to get the flawless quality I see from other users.

Could you please advise me on which specific speed settings I should reduce?

Thanks in advance! :)

Help with TPU 95A

Hello guys,

I’m trying to calíbrate Elegoo TPU95A Black.

Could you please let me know how to fix the bottom issue? There is a line across all the object in the botton side and bad quality.

I would like to improve letters quality as well.

Big thanks in advance!

New Snapmaker U1 owner looking for some advice! (Coming from an Artillery Genius)

Hi everyone,

I recently got my hands on a Snapmaker U1. It’s been quite a while since I last owned a 3D printer (my last one was an Artillery Genius), so I’m feeling a bit rusty and could use some guidance from the community!

Progress so far: I completed the initial calibration and successfully printed the test dragon. After that, I printed some white brackets to reorient the filament feeders so I can use my Sovol SH03 filament dryer and keep my filament in perfect condition. I also just picked up some PETG, TPU 95A, and a few bearings to print a set of HULU anti-vibration feet. (Not yet, never printed filaments like those).

Before I dive deeper, I have a few doubts and would love your recommendations:

  • Slicer Software: What is the best slicer to use for the U1 right now? Should I go with OrcaSlicer, Snorca, or something else entirely?
  • Firmware: What is the recommended firmware? I’m still running the original stock firmware out of the box and haven't even connected the printer to my network or the mobile app yet.
  • Print Profiles: What are the best starting print profiles for this machine? Back in the day, I used Cura and could always find a solid community profile to use as a baseline and tweak from there. I’m not really sure what the go-to resource is for the U1.

Any tips, pointers, or advice would be hugely appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!
