QM850G low HDR brightness with Game Master on unless Dynamic Tone Mapping is on

What’s up guys, I just started playing my PS5 Pro on my 65” TCL QM850G. The first thing that I noticed once I had HDR set up is that the actual brightness of the screen seemed quite low, but it was more than bright enough when calibrating the HDR on the PS5 at the system level, and when viewing the TV’s settings menu… in other words, the brightness looked good everywhere BUT on the PS5’s home screen and during gameplay. However, I noticed that the picture was MUCH punchier and deeper whenever I turned on Dynamic Tone Mapping. Is this normal? Not sure if I was missing something before turning it on, since I’ve seen so many reviews praising the TV’s brightness.

Anybody run a monitor + TV setup? Advice needed

Title says it all. Right now, my desk setup is in the room that was designated as my office/gaming room, but it has recently been converted to a nursery! Because of this, I am considering moving my desk into an empty corner of the living room. I prefer to play on a monitor, but I have an OLED TV in the living room that I can connect my PS5 to that is in close proximity to the corner that the desk would now occupy. Has anyone ever run a setup where they swapped freely between playing on a monitor at a desk and playing on a TV from a couch? I figured rather than trying to decide on the “best” setup, I could have the best of both worlds depending on how I feel. Interested to hear you guys’ thoughts.

Theoretically, where does the Portal go from here?

The Portal has consistently shown improvement over its lifespan so far, going from being a Remote Play only device, to streaming PS Plus games, to streaming select PS5 titles in one’s library (albeit as long as one has PS Plus Premium), and now the high quality streaming option update.

So, like the title says, where can the Portal go from here or what would you like to see implemented?

What’s up guys, my wife and I just recently welcomed our first son into the world! Sleep and free time are certainly at a premium now, but I have been able to sneak about an hour of gaming in on my new Portal here and there in between nightly feeding shifts.

So far I love the Portal and have been using both Remote Play and cloud streaming. So far, I have just been playing CFB 26 and completing missions here and there on RDR2 and GTA V.

With that being said, I am looking for some more games that I am able to play during these short sessions. Obviously, single player titles are going to fit my situation best so that I can pause the game as needed. Any and all recommendations are appreciated!
