Thought I’d mention this because I see it come up a lot. If you’ve got an older Audi, don’t assume you need a new head unit for CarPlay. A lot of them can be upgraded while keeping the factory screen and controls. Just make sure you check your MMI version first because that’s where most people get caught out.
One of my Bang & Olufsen front door speakers has blown and rather than replacing OEM I want to upgrade. Still running the stock B&O amp. Budget around $400for a pair. What would you recommend that works well with the B&O amp without needing extra DSP or amp work? and what do i need for the install thank you
2011 Audi A5 Sportback 3.0 TDI Quattro.
Recently replaced the rear pads and rotors with a mate. Ever since doing the brake job I’ve been getting a metallic “shing shing shing” noise after going over speed bumps or rough bumps. It sounds like something is vibrating/rattling for a second or two after the suspension is loaded up.
A few things:
Noise was not there before the brake job.
Rear brakes only.
We installed new pad retaining clips.
We tightened everything but did NOT torque the caliper carrier bolts or guide pin bolts with a torque wrench.
Brakes feel normal and the car stops fine.
Noise doesn’t sound like a suspension clunk, more like a metallic vibration/ringing.
Has anyone had this before on a B8 A5/A4 platform?
Would you be looking at:
Loose carrier bolts?
Loose guide pins?
Pads moving in the carrier?
Anti-rattle clips?
Dust shield touching the rotor?
Any advice before I pull the wheels off again would be appreciated.
