Tried a Rajasthani Thali for the First Time 🤤

While visiting Khatu Shyam, Rajasthan, I finally got the chance to try an authentic Rajasthani thali, and it absolutely lived up to the hype.

Every item on the plate had a different flavor from the dal and sabzi to the chutneys and traditional sweets. Everything tasted fresh, rich, and incredibly satisfying. As a vegetarian, this was one of the most enjoyable meals I've had while traveling.

If you're visiting Khatu Shyam, I'd definitely recommend trying a local Rajasthani thali at least once.

What's your favorite item in a Rajasthani thali?

Everyone knows Khatu Shyam. But have you heard of Babru Bhan?

Most people have heard of Khatu Shyam Ji, but very few know about Babru Bhan (बबरू भान), who is believed in local tradition to be the son of Arjuna.

I recently visited this peaceful temple dedicated to Babru Bhan near Bigopur village. It is located around 14 km before Virat Nagar (Rajasthan side) and is close to the Haryana–Rajasthan border.

According to local beliefs, Khatu Shyam Ji (Barbarika) is considered the nephew (भतीजा) of Babru Bhan. Babru Bhan was the son of Arjuna, while Barbarika was the son of Ghatotkacha, making him Arjuna's grandson.

Tell me a better 26 Jan photo. I'll wait.

26th January 2025. First time at Kartavya Path.

Grew up watching this on TV every year. Finally stood there in person and honestly nothing prepares you for it.

When the jets screamed overhead and those trails cut across the sky right above the Tricolour, I just froze. Forgot I was even holding a camera.

This shot happened in that moment.

Being in that crowd, everyone feels the same thing at the same time you stop watching and start feeling it.

Still attend every year. But that first time? Nothing will touch it.

If you haven't been yet just go. Once is all it takes.

Can I retire after this photo? 🖤🤍

I captured this beautiful photo while returning from the Rudranath Yatra, near the checkpoint at Sagar Village.

Somewhere in UK (Uttarakhand)

Moments like this are the reason I keep coming back to the mountains. Photos never fully capture how surreal it feels to be there, but I thought this one came close.

Taken during my solo trek in Uttarakhand. 🏔️🐴
