What kind of bird is this? Northern San Diego County, California, USA.

I was outside grilling some meat when this small round bird landed on my chair (thank God I didn't sit on him.) I thought he was unable fly until I approached and he jumped and landed on my shoulder. I walked by to the nearest tree and he flew by himself to reach the top of the tree. I am assuming he simply went home.

Did I manage to spot a Northern Spotted Owl?

Washington State. This dude is currently napping in a tree behind my house, and seems to match the description for a Northern Spotted Owl, but I know they're endangered so I'm not sure if it's a more common species. Sorry for the photo quality - my phone zoom wasn't working great, so I snapped some shots through my binoculars haha

Which type of tanager?

For context, this is in Oklahoma, Tulsa area. Sorry for the sketchy picture quality. I knew it wouldn't stick around long...my seed delivery is late. 🥴

Is this a juvenile bald eagle?

Observed in Scottsdale, Arizona. When it flew over I thought it looked like a bald eagle with the white on its tail and wings. I pulled over to take this photo of it perched. It kept an eye on me the whole time. I've seen it in this area a few times but only perched.

Melanistic or juvenile bald eagle?

This black eagle was in a nest with an adult bald eagle. We can’t determine if it’s melanistic or a juvenile. Any experts out there that could help? I’ve seen MANY juvenile bald eagles but not one as solid black as this..

Mystery soaring above!

Anybody have any thoughts on what this big guy might be - seen this morning soaring in Vermont near a river. My thought was an Osprey but it appears less white than others I’ve seen previously!

who is this duckling?

this baby was brought in to my job at a vet hospital. i know it’s harder to tell when they’re still so young but any insight would be great! don’t think it’s a mallard due to the lack of black stripe. some coworkers thought it could be a gosling. disclaimer: this is not a confirmed wild animal, it was most likely released by humans in some capacity or escaped from a meat market potentially. it was found on a busy city street in Philadelphia with no bodies of water nearby.
