Is microdosing BETTER for inflammation than a regular dose? Or is it just to manage side effects?

I am taking tirzepatide for blood sugar control and also inflammation (I have spondyloarthritis and PCOS, which is now called PMOS).

I have done totally fine on 2.5mg, just a little tummy ache after eating in the first 24hrs for the first 2 shots. Nothing beyond that. So I am not concerned about side effects at all.

But I am windering if anyone has thoughts on whether a microdose would actually be *more effective* for managing inflammation than a full dose.

I know this is all very off-label and DIY so we are flying by the seat of our pants over here!

Does your Rheumatologist prescribe?

Hi,

Forgive me - I’m really worn out from both a recent layoff notice and seeing a new rheumatologist today.

He seems like a very knowledgeable guy, does a lot of clinical trials and teaching, and gets amazing reviews as a kind and compassionate doctor.

He did some kind of test on my nervous system - all I took away is that my baevsky index is 1550, and he said it should be 50-100, or 150 on the upper end. 😳 so apparently my nervous system is a chihuahua on redbull. He said its a strong predictor for people who won’t respond well to biologic meds (i have spondyloarthritis).

Anyway, he mentioned benzos (but didnt want to prescribe them, and I dont really wanna take them) and very specific breathing techniques and CBD to calm down my nervous system and bring this index down.

He didn’t mention LDN, but I’ve known a little bit about it for a couple years and I am extremely curious and think it could be ridiculously helpful for me (i hope!)

I know many rheumatologists will prescribe it. Does yours? What was the conversation like - did they suggest it, or you ask about it? Did they know much about dosing, particularly microdosing?

Just wanting to hear peoples experiences.

I still feel a bit overwhelmed from today. It felt like a screaming wake-up call when he said my level was “VERY bad”. I thought I already knew how sick I was, but idk this feels like a whole new level of my body saying “hello, things are not going well”

ALT increased on humira/adalimumab?

My ALT was perfectly stable for years. I started Meloxicam in November, I unfortunately am taking it daily. Two ALT tests since then were stable, mid-range. I started adalimumab-adaz Feb 28. Now my ALT from this week is 45, which is the upper cutoff. It really shot right up!

Anyone else have this happen?

I see my new rheum on Tuesday so obviously will ask then. The med isnt working anyway after 12 weeks, so hoping to get on something else!

Do other biologics also have risk of liver damage?

How do I know how much is left in my kwikpen?

So, I’ve started on 2.5mg tirzepatide every 7 days with the kwikpen.

I have done my 4th dose and want to switch to doing 1.8mg every 5 days, which is still 2.5mg per week but will give a more even distribution across the week.

I don’t want to waste any medication (or as little as possible). So I want to know if this is enough for that dose or I will have to do a partial injection from this pen and partial from the next pen.

I know that counting the clicks is a thing, but that doesnt help me figure out how much is in there. Do I have to just draw it out of the pen with a needle and syringe?

Thanks!
