Looking for a laptop as a btech student under 100k or 120k.
Hi everyone,
I'm an incoming Mechanical Engineering student looking for a new laptop, and I want to stick specifically to HP or Samsung.
My daily workload will involve:
CAD/3D Modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
Programming and coding tools
Moderate gaming in my free time
I'm aiming for at least 16GB RAM and a dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU to handle renders and games smoothly.
I'm currently considering lineups like the HP Victus / HP Omen (for performance and cooling) or the Samsung Galaxy Book Ultra series (for portability and display quality).
If you're using either of these brands for engineering coursework:
Which specific model or configuration would you recommend?
How is the thermals/battery life holding up during heavy tasks and carrying it around campus?
Thanks in advance for the help!
