​Hi everyone,

​I'm an incoming Mechanical Engineering student looking for a new laptop, and I want to stick specifically to HP or Samsung.

​My daily workload will involve:

​CAD/3D Modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)

​Programming and coding tools

​Moderate gaming in my free time

​I'm aiming for at least 16GB RAM and a dedicated NVIDIA RTX GPU to handle renders and games smoothly.

​I'm currently considering lineups like the HP Victus / HP Omen (for performance and cooling) or the Samsung Galaxy Book Ultra series (for portability and display quality).

​If you're using either of these brands for engineering coursework:

​Which specific model or configuration would you recommend?

​How is the thermals/battery life holding up during heavy tasks and carrying it around campus?
