First KelTec

Hitting the range tomorrow with my new KelTec KP50.

Any suggestions from anyone that has one? I took it apart and ran a bore snake with CLP down the bore a couple of times and then some patches after that. The trigger group and other components looked really clean and greased up.

Thanks!

First time homeowner…..

Morning everyone, my wife and I just purchased our first home. The AC unit is a bit old, my handler upstairs is from 2015 and the condenser I believe, is from 2013. I will confirm and post down in the comments later.

We have a Google nest here in the house, the one with the mirrored front. I gotta admit I’ve been quite apprehensive about keeping it.

When we moved in, I had the unit checked out and everything was fine, my HVAC tech checked free on pressures, capacitor and so on and said the unit was very well taken care of andnin good shape and to wait 2-3 months before we go ahead and clean the coils. We’re 2.5 months in and I feel the AC is running more than normal.

We live in South Florida, in Broward County and the heat is in full force right now so I expect the unit to run more, however, last night did it for me. I woke up at 3am and I went to check my thermostat. The temp was set to 72/73 which is our normal night time sleep temps and it was measuring the temps in my house at 77 degrees and the humidity at 75%.

At 7pm the thermostat was reading indoor temps of 78, which i have to mention, school just started so I was leaving the house at 75 with the kids inside it seems it cannot keep that temp anymore. I watch the indoor temps slowly climb and climb and the AC just runs and runs to try and lower temps.

I took a reading at the AC coming out of my vent, near the handler, and I was getting 63-64 coming out of the vent. We have noticed that a lot of the vents are installed, backwards. For example, a vent in my dining room instead of facing the open area to push the air that way, it’s pointed to the wall. A lot of them a positioned this way.

We’re measuring all the vents and we’re placing them with new ones These are old, plastic and have turned yellow from light exposure.

Sorry for the rant, Im really asking if this is normal AC behavior for this time of year in Miami? Is the Google Nest worth having? Should I consider having different temps while we’re not home? I keep the house at 77/78 when kids are at school and now home.

Thanks for reading.

Another rousing rendition of “How’s My Boa’s Weight?”

I’ve seen so many posts of people with their boas asking if they’re good weight/size for their age.

This is my boy Kaa and he is going to be 3 years old on the 1st of September. He’s been a great snake since k got him in late March of 2024. Got him off Morph Market from a local breeder he’s a Hypo Jungle 100% Het Khal and 50% Het Blood

He’s shed regularly, eats well and he’s been doing great with target training at home.

I weighed him today and he is exactly 555grams. He eats every 14 days and eats a diet of chicks and small rats.

Let me know what you guys think!!
