Boa size question

I was told at time of purchase that my boa was born on April 18 of this year so she’s roughly 2 and half months old but she looks bigger to me than she normally would at this age I’m just looking for some second opinions on if she is probably sized or bigger like I think she is. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Snake bites :(

So I just got bit on my arm. It makes me feel so sad like I’m not a good handler because I have no idea why she would have bit me. She had been out for like 15 minutes. She did have a moment of faster movement when my son gave her to me but I thought it was just from being transferred. Then she was just slowly going around me. Should I have taken that movement more seriously and put her away?

This is the second time she’s bit me in the like 9 months I’ve had her. The first time I feel like I understand what happened. She was trying to get up to my neck where she either squeezes or tries to go on top of my head and usually ends up pulling my hair. So I kept taking her off my neck and she bit me then. I figure she was tired of not getting to where she wanted to be.

Ok temporary setup?

I’ve decided I need to redo something in my Boa’s main enclosure and so he needs to spend a couple nights here. It’s heated by a heat mat with a thermostat. I’ve been monitoring temps with a fluke temp gun. I did drill some ventilation holes. I feel bad, it’s only 2 feet long. Would any of you change anything?

snake diarrhea??

Unfortunately I don't have a photo because the feces had to be cleaned up immediately (long story short he shat on someone's shirt while I was letting them hold him).

It looked to be a lighter color than usual, less of those white clumps than usual (only 1-2), and much more liquidy than usual. Does this sound like some kind of sickness or digestion issue?

Thank you for any help 🥲

Initiating Handling Help

I have owned a Boa Imperator for 5 weeks so far. She was born February 2025 She's eating well every 10 days.

I use target and tap training.

I've strictly only handled her when she's already been out of hiding. Unfortunately, she is hiding basically all the time, except some nights, where I wake up to the enclosure having been scrambled around.

My reasoning is that I don't want to lift her hide, which she associates with safety, which could teach her that she's not safe anywhere.

I wonder if this is a real concern or not?

Or if socialising her regularly, despite having to lift the hide, tap her and pick her up is okay in the long run to get her used to handling?

I'm regularly in the enclosure in short intervals to do water exchange or misting for humidity control, which also shows her that activity is not something to be afraid of.

During our handling sessions, she's been impeccable, very calm, curious and slow moving.

After I put her back in the enclosure, she explores her enclosure for the remainder of the day. She doesn't sprint to her hide at all.

So all in all, she seems to be doing well. I just want to know the best approach to utilise in my pursuit of making her more prone to being out in the open.

What do you suggest?

Whitewater Rosy Boa

I got this pretty girl that was born on December 14, 2026 from HerpsandInverts at a local reptile expo in January. She looked great and took her first few meals perfectly. But about 4-6 weeks ago she decided to stop eating. Her terrarium is a 40g with a hot side with a basking rock at 90-98°F at its closest point and a cool side with a hide that averages 76-80°. Her humidity stays around 30-50% because of my AC. She has a lot of hiding spots inside the rock piles I’ve made her and she comes out to explore occasionally but she doesn’t eat. I have tried live and thawed but she doesn’t even strike.

What can I do? I have been trying every week to no success. She still looks healthy with no ribs/spine visible and she barely shed about a week ago. (She is on the last pic)

Below I have attached images of the set up.

Grow tent for hog island boa?

Would something like this work for a baby hog island boa? its 32”x32”x63”. She was born in April, so she is still tiny and I have no issue upgrading later if needed. I would put it on its side and make all the modifications. Just wanted to see other peoples experiences with keeping boas in grow tents because I was originally gonna go with the 5x2x2 from dubia.com but I think the mesh lid would not be ideal for humidity.
