Hailee and chuck

Okay this isn’t really snarky but they are having a fabulous freaking year and I am just like gushing like they are personal friends. Both of them also lost weight and look great and healthy and not like a super fast weight loss experience. I keep making Hailee’s recipes and I have NOT lost weight LOL. Happy for both of them living their best lives, looking fashionable (without their page being about fashion or lifestyle products) and bringing us great recipes. Loving their traveling with cabbages world (who are also freakin cool).

Mid level looking for new gig blues

I live in a v HCOL area. My firm is based in a LCOL area. I work a lot, always hit well above our admittedly low billable target (1600). We are midsize firm (300ish attorneys). I am a 6 year. When I joined the firm, I was explained that our structure provides for a low salary but a large bonus at the end of the year and I could expect to be making 250 plus with my hours and my originations. It’s been 3 years—So far, I have never grossed above 200. Last year was my best year and I hit 195. I am continuously told (after disappointing year ends) that I am one of the highest paid associates at the firm.
I like the work I do, I value my other associates and my partners and everyone is respectful and kind. We rarely have fire drills but I have enough work that I need to work a few hours on most weekends. I type this as I have been online since 6:15am– no one gives me a hard time about working early and logging off at 5pm. My boss is putting me up for partnership (non equity) this year. I have no idea what partners earn. I have a small book of business (less than 500k) and I’m worried if I take a lower salary at partnership, I will still not get the bonuses I was expecting and actually be in a bad situation. Our bonus structure is subjective and I am told (now) that it’s based on my partners collections and not necessarily my hours. I am applying for other jobs to just see what’s out there bc I am tired of basically living paycheck to paycheck.
I am trying to break into a larger law firm but I am getting no bites because I’m in a fairly specialized practice. I have made my resume more general but I’m not getting much traction. I have had two interviews and both seemed to go great— but I didn’t have the specific experience that either firm was looking for. Just kinda at a loss here and was hoping for some advice.

Fabulous Make-Ahead Dinner!

I have friends coming for dinner tomorrow night and whenever we go to their house, they cook us something fabulous! Tomorrow I have a jampacked day but this afternoon/evening I’m like wide open. I would love to find a recipe where most of the heavy lifting I can do today and that way tomorrow I can host and not spend the whole time at the cutting board and at the stove since I won’t have time to do much during the day! Bonus points if I don’t have to fry anything… I am having a house cleaned, which is a real luxury for us, and I don’t want it to smell like oil for a week! Please drop your favorites below!

Weaning

Hi pumpers. I so greatly respect what you guys do and reading your stories and posts has been enlightening and encouraging for my pumping journey. I really wanted to be a formula only mom but at the behest of my husband and with the support of my doctor, we decided to try pumping and nursing and to give me a goal of a month of breast milk for my baby.
We are two weeks in and my baby doesn’t like nursing so I have been pumping. As much as I want to provide the baby with breast milk, I HATE IT!!! My husband is incredibly supportive and said, he supports me starting weaning now… my only problem is, I don’t know how!
When I was doing full 15 min sessions 8-10 times a day, it always felt like I had more milk when I was done. Overnight, when my husband takes over 2 feedings so I can get some sleep, I have consistently woken up in a puddle of milk, even if I pump right before bed. I am trying to go for 3-6 pumps a day for 10 min each and to keep tapering down week by week… but my breasts always feel like they want to give baby more!
Any tips for this mom who wants out!?
