Trying the Dana method

Hi everyone! Trying to reset my almost 8 mo olds schedule! She’s been on 2 naps for awhile. She’s struggling with early am wakes. She sometimes resettles for a little more on her own in the morning but usually wakes around 5:30. I’m trying 9:15 and 1:15 naps, capping the first at an hour because the second has been so short lately, I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence but the second nap was 1.5 hours today! I have been trying that schedule for the past couple of days & they’re definitely more solid naps. She’s just exhausted by the end of the day, and she cries before most every sleep. She may be a “power down” baby but I am struggling to just keep letting her do this. The clock strikes like 5:30/6pm and I want to put her to bed because she’s so tired. What can I do to help her? How long do you give a clock based schedule a shot before you try something else? Trying to regulate her schedule.

My baby keeps waking 30 minutes into her afternoon nap...

& she’s definitely still tired! She’s 7.5 months. We’ve been doing a 3/3/4 schedule and she’s getting about 11 hours. She’ll sometimes still wake before 6, I’ll nurse her and she’ll go back to sleep.

Nothing I’ve tried seems to help, I’m usually able to soothe her back to sleep & lay her back down. She puts herself to sleep for bedtime & naps now, we used the Ferber method. I tried check ins today and that just felt awful — she was screaming. I’ll take any tips of advice! Have thought of capping that 1st nap but it’s so solid that I’m afraid to mess with it 😫 Her first nap is usually right at 1.5 hours. I just know if she wakes before 3 from that second nap she’ll struggle to make it to bedtime.

My baby cries for a few minutes before bed — almost every night

My 7 month old was sleep trained around 5 months and she’s doing great. Aside from when teething makes sleep hard and trips we’ve taken, she puts herself to sleep! But usually not without a couple mins of crying. Sometimes we time it perfectly and she rolls over and zonks out. Sometimes it’s just grunting while getting comfy. But others it’s a few minutes of crying and lifting her head up and down. And I’m starting to feel really horrible about it and wondering if it’s “okay” or if I need to support her more when that happens and if that’s okay. She’s getting great rest, sleeping until 6am.

7 mo old waking at 5am

Needing advice for how to handle these early wakes. Our almost 7 mo old is sleep trained and used to sleep ~7 to 6/6:30. We do a 3/3/4 schedule right now. Her first nap is around 9:30 and the second around 1:30. The second nap she sometimes wakes early from but usually they are both 1.5 hours. 4 hours is the longest I feel like she can last in the evening. She’s also teething and maybe starting to feel separation anxiety, she used to put herself to sleep easily but now it’s taking her an hour to go sleep. In these early mornings…should I feed her right away to give the best chance of her going back to sleep? Do I leave her in her crib? I’m finding it difficult to let her cry because she is teething and I can’t 100% say she’s not hungry. Do you move the first nap up, too? But I don’t want to reinforce the early wake…..Just feeling at a loss. I WFH so I was waking up at 5 and getting some solid work done. I know she needs the sleep too. Any insight is helpful!

What could this be stuck in my pipes?

Our ac shut off, drip pan full. Worker found this today! There was about 2 feet of this gunk stuck in the pipes. What could it be?

My 6.5 month old’s second nap is consistently only 30 minutes.

She’s been sleeping 11-12 hours at night, and wakes around 6:30 am. Bedtime is 6:30/7 depending on her second nap. Her first nap is around 9:30 and it’s usually ~1.5/2 hours. Her second nap is around 1:30 but is consistently only 30 minutes. What should I do to try to support her? We’ve started nap training now too now that she is an expert at nights! 🙌

My 5.5 month olds naps have consolidated and I’m trying to figure out what works for her. We wake at no later than 7:30 in the morning. She’s currently 2hr 40min into a nap this morning. She slept 11 hours last night with one wake up to nurse. I’ve been doing 3 naps, the first one capping at 1.5 hours, the next one is usually an hour and then the last nap usually 45 min or less.

That seemed to work for a bit, but the past few days I swear she’s been overtired and we barely make it to bedtime. So I thought I would try a 2 nap schedule, but she just keeps sleeping. I keep reading to cap her naps, and that’s what I’ve been doing, but again it seemed to result in a fussier baby but this almost 3 hour nap is scaring me for bedtime 🤣. Her WW are around 2 to 3 hours.

She’s almost 6 months now! She caught on to sleep training just a couple nights in and is putting herself to sleep. She’s still waking anywhere from 2-4am to nurse. If it’s closer to 4am she’ll sleep until 6:30am or so but if it’s closer to 2am, she’ll wake again around 5am. It’s super easy to nurse her since she goes back to sleep easily. I just don’t know anything about night weaning or when that’s appropriate? Would you leave these feeds or try to wean them?

We started the Ferber method with our 5.5 mo old, tonight will be night 5. She’s doing really well with minimal crying. On night 3 we did not have to support her to sleep at all through the night. She’s been waking at 3am to feed since night 2. Last night (night 4), we did have to go do a check in. My question is since we skipped night 3, should we have used night 3’s check in increments last night?

Also, I decided to not do Ferber method for naps until she’s dropped to 2 naps, but now I’m debating that choice. That 3rd nap is so hard so I feel like she’s close to doing only 2 naps. How should I introduce Ferber for naps?
