After weeks of rain, it's great to have a sunny weekend. What are you doing outside for fun?

Is it appropriate to let an individual pursue a career in which you believe they will not be successful? A local TV station has hired a young man as a weekend news reader. He likely has a degree in broadcast journalism. He has a very irritating voice, a strangely-shaped head, and he stumbles over simple words as he reads the teleprompter. It seems to me that some teacher should have steered him into another aspect of broadcasting. Once he completes his summer stint filling in, I cannot imagine that he would be hired even in a small market. Was this fair to him?

I am dismayed that singers feel they have to customize the National Anthem. Yesterday, during a parade honoring Vets, the vocalist showed poor judgment in an attempt to showcase her creativity. She altered rhythms, warbled, and demonstrated her ability to sing high notes. This happens often at ball games. It seems the audience likes this, but the National Anthem should be performed with care, preparation, and perhaps a sense of reverence.

I've been very critical of the nuisance factor of Libre3. Ten days ago they sent a completely redesigned app. The connection process has improved, and while there have been some disconnects, they are less frequent. I was on the verge of ditching it, but the new app has changed my mind.
