She seemed very outraged in one of the phone calls when the coroner suggested the possibility of covid. Something I didn’t really understand because in her shoes you think she would latch onto any possible alternative to poisoning. It was very strange almost like a pride thing. Like she didn’t want to have to tell people her husband died of COVID. I’m not sure what to make of it. Perhaps she was too focused on hoping it would be interpreted as an overdose?

I will be honest I was going to get a steam deck and then it went out of stock, then I was eyeing the Lenovo legion go s steam version. I figured it was just like the steam deck but with a bigger screen and actually the form factor looked great. I waited because I wasn’t sure it was worth the 899.99 and maybe the steam deck would come back? Well steam deck isn’t in stock and the go just jumped to a price that I just can’t justify to myself.

Now my gaze has fallen on the ally x. It is the right price for me but I’m put off by the fact it’s probably quite a bit less powerful than the legion go s or steam deck. I also wasn’t a fan of those Xbox controller love handles. But if it’s comfortable I can handle it.

I have a pc I can stream from and I also have a decentb library of indie stuff I think might be fun like dredge, stardew valley, and hades so I think as an indie machine it might work and if I can play some later AAA titles I’d love that too.

Would you recommend for someone in my situation? I have a switch 2 which I really enjoy but I want something for pc games and i think it will be a long wait for the steam deck 2 plus the whole RAM price debacle

Is now a good time to jump in?

I’ve been on the fence since the game released but picked it up due to the sale. Played for 6 hours im level 10 and have extracted 7 times successfully working toward 21.

Id say the thing im liking better so far is the way the loot seems to be much more varied than arc. Feels like there is a lot of loadout variety. The multiple factions make the questing seem more interesting than arc too

Id say the people saying it’s more hardcore than arc are exaggerating. It took some time to wrap my head around the menus and the loot but once I did I find it as easy to play as arc but maybe just a hair more brutal with the time to kill

I’d say if you like extraction games go for it. Don’t let the player count bother you. Matchmaking can be slow but it gives you a chance to pee or grab a soda between runs.
