It seems common to get the wrong item shipping multiple times?

Two for two. I have no idea how any of this is statistically possible. I ordered a table from Wayfair and I ordered mouthwash from Amazon. Two different warehouses, companies, items, etc. Amazon sends some toothpaste (same brand, but not mouthwash, clearly). I report the error. They make me drive down to the Wholefoods to return it.

Wayfair sends me the wrong table (same brand) I email Wayfair and report the error and they make me go to the FedEx store to return it. (This isn't light stuff btw.)

Amazon refuses to send the correct item until I return the toothpaste (in the past, they'd just let me keep it, but w/e.) I do the send in. They send the same exact wrong item. I actually call them and get a rep and explain what happens. They want a photo of the item. I took a photo of the item with the order in the background of the CLEARLY obvious large bottle versus the smaller tube. The lady said she'll give me a refund, let me keep what I got and report the error because clearly there's something going down at the warehouse.

Today, I finally get the Wayfair table replacement.

It's the same f'n wrong table. I mean same brand, but completely different from what I ordered.

I haven't reported it yet, but I know they are gonna make my ass drive it down to the FedEx store AGAIN to drop it off.

How tf is this happening?

We have a Wayfair store (it's not close, but I'd be willing to travel down there to make the swap... but I'm not even sure they have the table I ordered in stock there.)

What do you all suggest? I keep seeing people get the wrong thing 5 times and/or not getting refunds.

I also need a f'n kitchen table small enough to fit in my kitchen. The 3 piece set I ordered was perfect.

Question for those who have moved their stuff to Japan from the US using Yamato or NEX...

Did the size/type of boxes matter or only the cubic ft of space they took up? I'm wondering if I need to get rid of my plastic storage bins/crates (the black ones with the yellow lids) in favor of boxes. I also have things that won't fit in square boxes and might need taller/narrower boxes. Also was curious if the total weight of the items mattered or if the individual box weight mattered as well.

Were there limitations? And if so, what were they? (generally speaking)

Rhino "insurance" security deposit required for rental

I found an apartment and the leasing company uses a company called Rhino to take the security deposit.

It's not insurance, but it's marketed as "monthly insurance payments" in lieu of a security deposit. It does offer the security deposit option of $500, but when I choose this option, it just loops me back to the leasing office/site.

We called the leasing office and they do not take any other payment form except through this company (which everyone says to run away from, screaming.) I don't really have a choice at this point, we're so far into the leasing process and it's been a huge PITA to find an apartment.

I just want to make the large sum payment and not do the monthly KLARNA-esque BS.

In need of a furnished apartment, with parking, 6 month lease budget of around 2k a month.

Hey all. I already live in the Chicago area and am needing to move by mid-August (if it's available now, I can lease it now).

I've checked furnished finder, Blueground (which the prices are pretty nuts there), even corporate housing... and like no one answers their phones or responds to inquiries.

Is there some kind of super secret place to search out furnished apartments with short term leases and a parking spot?

Help with glare on super glossy products?

This issue is more recent at my job. I'm a graphic designer who is also doing in-house product photography.

Some of the products we have are books that have high gloss pages. Until I joined, the photography was done a group effort project with everyone's personal iPhones. Since I joined, the company invested in a Sony digital camera with studio lights.

The issue is, now everything has a glare because of the gloss on some of these pages when I'm shooting spreads (open with a slight angle.)

Having an art background, my solution was to hose down the pages with mattefying acetone spray which is working to "tone down" the gloss, but people still have complaints about the glare. A corner here and there, where you can almost see a "reflection" of the box light in the page itself.

Now, I know product photography exists without this spray that I'm using... so can anyone give me advice on a setup to capture these images with out the extra 30 minutes of hosing down a spread, waiting for it to dry, repeat... with dozens of books?

Is there a restaurant in the city that's good for 6-8 people and a dog?

Hey all! I have family both local (various areas of the metro area and state) and out of town who want to meet up. One of them will have a dog that can't be left alone. The group will be a minimum of 6 possibly 8 people. What places would be good for dinner given those conditions?

edit, because it needed one gestures below, I'm obviously looking for dog-friendly patios that can accommodate larger groups. The people bringing the dog are driving in from out of town and have a rescue that has severe separation anxiety. They aren't excited about having to bring the dog in which is why they sheepishly asked me to see if I could find something. It's just a bunch of family members who haven't gotten together in a while, not that I need to justify the ask.

It's quite simple really: either there are places where I can have my request granted or there are not. I'm not asking anyone to bend or change restaurant rules. This either exists or it doesn't. It's not that complicated.

Black and Dark Blue stretchy jeans have a choking chemical smell.

It actually have a denim jumper that has the same issue but isn't too bad anymore, however, these jeans... my god.

The blue ones have come down after 5-6 washes, but the black ones I can't do anything with them.

I've seen them mentioned on a few threads, but couldn't find a guide on how to remove these smells (if at all possible.)

I've seen stuff about baking soda and cold water and other possibilities. I've never smelled anything like this in new clothes before this year. (I also don't buy a lot of new clothes or denim.)

What's going on here and what's the solution? And if there is no solution, then who do I write to to have this stopped. I can't convey how I feel like I'm suffocating when I'm in the same room as this smell. It can't be legal.
