I’m an airhead now

1984 R100… My second BMW. Rode her for only about a half hour on the test drive but she’s great. No leaks, shifts smooth…. Tires still have nubs on them. Love everything about this bike.

Should I buy? 1984 R100

I would be using this to ride a few miles to work, around town for fun. It has about 8k miles. Price is 5k. I know the guy selling it,he is sealing valve covers before the sale.
Do these require a lot of maintenance? Are they reliable at all? (Probably more so than my BSA) Thanks for any advice!

Any advice for this bike? It would compliment my 1999 BMW 1100 RT and my 1971 BSA…
He also had a couple Guzzi’s from 2010’s I’m considering but I’ve wanted to get this one for some years now…

House Poor and starting over

So my fiancé left me about 6 months ago… we’d been together for almost 14 years. Ok. Sucks, but trying to respect her wishes. What I am trying to deal with now is this house. We bought a 3500 sf house and are both on the mortgage. She said she never wanted this house and I talked her into it. Now she is saying I begged her. That’s not true. We had agreed to live here for 5 years and move to something else. It is true it wasn’t exactly what either one of us wanted but we both felt pressured to move out of the duplex we had been renting for 10 years. She essentially wanted a ranch style home which are rare in the city we live in. Anyway, we had just got back from a trip to Italy and a few weeks later, she needed time and space. I gave her that. Now, 6 months later, I’m sure it’s over.

The house is actually beautiful. I love it. She never really gave it a chance. She was so hung up on what it wasn’t she could never see what it was. The neighborhood is pretty great and it really is a wonderful house overall.

The mortgage is basically half of my monthly income, not including utilities. The deal was always I pay the bills and she saves money. That’s how she got 24k deposit to put down. Again, I would pay the bills and she saves and gets groceries. Well, to this day I’ve paid about 30k on the mortgage but most of that goes to interest. Not much equity.

So I need to decide if I sell this, basically break even or a slight loss, and to go rent an apartment for only a few hundred less a month. It also means I will have to sell a ton of shit, like my motorcycle and whatever else I can get rid of to downside.

I have been paying all the bills since we broke up, she feels as though we had a deal and this is what I signed up for. She does not except that that deal came with our lifelong commitment.

She says I should keep it, but I think she just wants what’s easiest for her and to move on with her life. it will be very hard to save money living here, especially if things break. I don’t want to give it up…. Mortgage payment is like 2300 vs 1700 for a decent apartment. If I could remortgage for a better interest rate that would be cool but it would only be like a .5% reduction as of now.

Anyway, super bummed. We worked so hard to get here and she just gets to walk away from everything. So not only did I loose the love of my life but left to deal with all of this alone. And the fuxing fridge broke last week.

Not sure what to do.

Fit Check?

“First” leather jacket… schott 530 Allen Edmunds.
I’m 6’4” 210. Ordered a XL and XXL as I heard this runs small, but will stretch. Pictured is the XL. Didn’t even try the XXL, will return it.
Anyway, surprisingly, the XL fits ok for length and sleeves, but I’m worried it’s too loose in the torso. I have pics with a t-shirt and a hoodie. I am also continuing to loose weight so I am afraid it will get bigger as I get smaller. I was told it should start somewhat tight and then stretch a bit with time. Also there is a bit of extra material between collar and shoulders.

What say you, leather jacket experts of Reddit, is it a keeper, or should I return both and order a Large?

Thank you for your consideration.

PS it’s a beautiful coat.
