Moms who always look put together with little kids… HOW?!

Okay, I am very curious.

I have two girls, 9 months and 3 years old, and I feel like getting the kids ready to leave the house is basically a full-time job.

We recently went away for the weekend with my husband and the girls, and by the time I had both kids showered, dressed, fed, packed everything they needed, etc., I realized I hadn’t even gotten myself ready. I ended up throwing on the same comfy jumper, washing my face, and heading out. I literally had to wear a hat because I hadn’t had time to wash my hair.

And this isn't just when we're travelling. Most days, the girls are up around 6:30am and don't go to bed until around 9pm. Also little one is still up throughout the night. By the time they're in bed, I usually have just enough energy to clean up and go to bed myself.

I'm always the last person to get ready, and by the time I get to myself, I'm not interested in doing anything beyond washing my face, throwing on something comfortable and leaving. My husband is helpful with certain things but my 9 month old is super attached to me which makes it hard to have him watch over her for long periods of time.

BUT… I know there are moms with young kids who somehow always look GOOD. Hair done, cute outfit, makeup, nails, somehow looking fresh and put together.

If this is you, how do you ensure you always have time to get yourself ready.

EDIT: to those that say my husband needs to help more, he does a lot more than I mentioned. Obviously if he was the issue I wouldn’t have posted this lol I would have bigger problems to worry about. He works full time and isn’t even there 95% of the time I want to go out with the girls (weekdays). Maybe I should have gave a different example instead of the one-off weekends we decided to go away.

How do you fast for 36+ hours when you’re home all day?

I’m curious how other stay-at-home moms or people who work from home manage longer fasts, especially 36+ hours.

I find fasting much harder when I’m at home compared to when I’m busy or out of the house. When I’m home, food is always right there, I’m thinking about what I could eat, and it’s easy to start negotiating with myself 😂. I was able to do these fasts a lot easier when I was working full-time outside the house.

I also have two kids under three, so it’s a bit harder to just decide to leave the house and go somewhere whenever a craving hits. A lot of the time I’m home with them, surrounded by food, snacks, and the kitchen all day.

For those of you who regularly do longer fasts while being at home, what strategies actually help you? How do you make it work?
