Built a catio for a client

I set up a FB page in 2023 so I could help local cat owners with catio builds. Built 2 for my own cats in the last few years, and I've had a bunch of enquiries in the last 3 years but this was my first paying customer! she was really happy with the finished product, especially after being quoted £1,650 by a different builder. Really happy I could help her out while doing something I love!

Ex roommate not paying the water bill which is under my name

I moved out of a toxic household environment last year. The water bill was set up in my name as we delegated bills between us. I managed to get one of them to send me the £80 he owed on the Southern Water bill. I have been messaging the other tenant for the last 6 months to get the final £80 and he is refusing to reply to me, despite being active on WhatsApp everyday.

I really need advice on where to go from here. From what I understand, I can't change the account into his name without his permission, which he would never agree to.

Taking him to small claims for £80 seems unnecessary, especially as I'd have to pay £35 to do so.

I'm so frustrated after trying to contact them both for the last few months that I'm at my wits end. I feel like going there and slicing his car tires, I would never actually do that but that's how frustrated I am with this whole situation. I keep receiving letters and emails about it, my credit score is also taking a hit now because of it and I'm looking to buy a house later this year so it's come at a terrible time. Any advice?

Slow and steady wins the race

I'm particularly happy with how this last week has gone, I've defined my risk and stuck to my plan.

Only started using prop firms in February, passed around 15 combines so far but always struggle once funded due to lack of discipline, and therefore have never received a payout.

I'm taking the expectations away, $300 maximum per day and $250 max loss per day. This has helped massively because before when I'd win a trade, I would get greedy and start looking for the next one, sometimes I won, sometimes I lost. Now, I lock out after a $200-300 win and focus on doing the same the next day. I could easily full port this combine to pass in 2 days but I want to prove to myself I can be disciplined, then take that mentality into the XFA.

Does anyone else do something similar? as in focusing on consistent base hits rather than large wins.

Any advice is always welcomed!

I used to trade in 2019 but stopped after banking 2k. I got back into it in January 2026 and learnt about prop firms.
In my first week back I passed 3 evaluations, then blew all 3 funded accounts on day one. That was the start of a bad spiral because I felt so close to finally getting a payout. I ended up spending about £1,800 in my first month chasing it.

I haven’t told my girlfriend or family how much I’ve lost and honestly I feel ashamed about it. This past week I finally got a funded account up to +$800 and only needed 2 more $100 days to qualify for a payout. Today I lost the account because I entered a trade without placing my stop loss immediately and one huge candle wiped me out. Right after that I bought 4 more accounts and lost all of them within 10 minutes revenge copy trading.

At this point I genuinely think I’m addicted to the cycle. The idea of turning $50 into $1,000 feels impossible to ignore, especially because I’m financially unstable right now. Last month I even took out a loan just before payday to buy more accounts.

The frustrating part is I don’t even think my strategy is terrible. I backtested it over the last year and it came out around 55% win rate with 1.5RR. My issue is discipline. I constantly take random trades outside my setup, and the worst part is sometimes those trades win, which just reinforces the behaviour and messes with my head even more.

Nonetheless, I'm taking a break for now, mainly because I cannot afford the eval fees.

Not really sure what I’m asking for here. Maybe just wondering if anyone else has been through this cycle and managed to pull themselves out of it.
