New ametrine in Arya Akhavan’s “Blue Happiness” design. I’m enjoying how the cut affects the two colors of the stone. What I’m not enjoying is the summer heat making my palms gross so I can’t touch the stone without leaving prints. But at least the light is beautiful 🫠

The chasing and repoussé are done! I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but actually doing it is another thing. But I love it, had a great time - it a fantastic outside activity for good weather days - and can’t wait to do more.

Small sunken bowl with repoussé nubby legs and chased furry texture.

Very much still a work in progress but I’m pretty stoked with where this is going and thought my fellow metal nerds might like to see! More info in caption text!

I’m learning how to sink and raise. This is my first sinking project - that’s how the general form was made. I’ve also begun experimenting with chasing and repoussé so I thought I’d bring that in to give the form some character. The little legs and the hair are what’s coming out of that process. I’m loving these techniques. And i really appreciate how differently one has to navigate time - these processes are so labor intensive you just can’t expect to be done in a day. I stopped keeping track a while ago and just try to get into a flow state. No social media (until now, after the studio day is done lol), no googling, no politics of any sort, no AI, just some tools, some fragrant pitch, and an aching hand.

Just finished this ring and I’m really happy with it and wanted to share it with you all! It spins! Sterling silver with a garnet. 🩷

Wish I could post photos alongside the video. If folks want images just holler and I’ll make another post.

Learning how to sink forms. Starting very simple but I love this little bowl with its nubby little legs and its vivid patina. In a week or so we’re going to start raising. So excited!

Ametrines have been kicking my butt lately. After endless hours struggling with this one, it is finally completed. I love it now, but a few days ago it was the devil. A beautiful devil, though. The way the light affects visual shifts in the stone is lovely. Enjoy the pictures!

I’m using a fantastic Andrew Brown design, but I can’t remember the name. Will edit that in later!

Faceted in an Andrew Brown design…the name is escaping me right now but I can edit that in later!

A recent ring I made that I really liked. It went home with someone before I could take good pictures or share it with my friends. So, sharing it here! Hope you enjoy the pictures.
