Hello, some time ago I tried ClamAv and some GUIs. Also installed Mozilla's Firefox and Thunderbird.

I found that I have many leftovers I can't delete or send to Trash.

I tried Terminal but it says the apps are not installed and can't be removed or purged.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am having trouble to find the SHIM version I have installed in my laptop with Zorin OS 18.1

I ran in Terminal the command:  "shim --version" but it came back that the shim command was not found and that I needed to install some library to be able to run it.

I installed the needed library, and ran the command again and this is what I got:

shim --version
Usage: shim < socket> < command>

I didn't get the SHIM version. What I am doing wrong?

I have good sound when playing an mp3 in Rhythmbox, but when I am watching a YouTube video in Brave browser, the sound is different it is difficult to hear it is not as clear and loud as it is in Rhythmbox.

I don't know how to properly explain what is happening, but Zorin's OS 18.1 Software Store doesn't work properly, this is the second time this happens to me.

I tried to uninstall an app (in this recent case MysticQ Video Converter), and still shows as installed, in the installed list of apps, and there is no way to delete it, this was a Zorin's apt package.

I love Zorion OS, but this annoyance, makes me feel very frustrated.

I can't Uninstall MPV from Zorin OS 18.1 Software Store when I click Uninstall it appears a message saying:

Unable to uninstall mpv

In details section says:

no packages to remove.

It appears in the Installed section and I can't remove it.

I was listening to an mp3 file with VLC media player ln my Laptop when suddenly the audio didn't come out, it was silent. I tried to listen to another song, also an mp3 and it happened again.

I closed and opened again VLC, tried another song, same problem.

I restarted my Laptop and tried to play the mp3 again, same problem no sound.

I went to YouTue and played a video, it had sound no problem.

I don't know what is happening, unistalled VLC and installed it back, tried the mp3 file again there was no sound.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am very frustrated with Bluetooth connection in Zorin OS 18.1, I thought I fixed it when switched from Wayland to X11, but I didn't.

While working in my Laptop I love listening music with my Bluetooth earbuds, but they keep disconnecting suddenly, and the quality of sound is poor and they disconnect intermittently, now I can't get them back.

Do I need to update the Kernel?

Do I need to look for another distro with better support for Bluetooth?

Windows 11 worked fine on that area, but it is a privacy and performance nightmare.

I am having problems with Bluetooth in Zorin OS 18.1, and I don't know if is something related to the updated Linux kernel in Zorin OS 18.1, there is a post in Zorin's Forum saying that Zorin OS 18.1 breaks GPU, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi drivers after updating.

My ONN. Bluetooth earphones were working very well, but about 20 days ago while listening a YouTube video they suddenly started to fail until they connection was completely lost. I don't remember how I fixed it, the Bluetooth worked again. Tonight while listening another YouTube video, the Bluetooth connection suddenly stopped after 7 minutes of listening and I wasn't able to fix it.

I disconnected my earphones and tried to reconnect them back, it didn't work the system did not took them back. I had to make the system to forget my earphones, and now I cant reconnect them, the system doesn't see them.

I checked my earphones against my cellphone and they connected perfectly, no problem.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Yesterday I learned Canonical was under attack by a DDoS coming from Iranian simpazticers.

Now the question is are the repositories free of malware after the attack? Is it safe to update Zorin OS niow?
