I made a couple of firefly necklaces that actually light up with tiny LED lights ✨

I’ve always loved fireflies. Watching them at night feels so magical, and it makes me sad how many are disappearing because of pesticides and habitat loss. I wanted to make something that captured a little bit of that cozy summer-night feeling.

These were inspired by Kate Schroeder’s beautiful light-up earrings (shared with permission 💛), and once the idea got into my head, I couldn’t stop thinking about tiny glowing fireflies.

Each one was handmade and has its own little personality. I had so much fun working on them.

As part of my drop today at 7 PM CT, I made these cute mermaid possum magnets!

They were incredibly fun to design and make. The blue one is one of my favorites, but I also have a soft spot for the rainbow one. 🌈

Creating these was such a blast. It took me years to finally decide to make mermaid possums, and now I’m wondering why I waited so long!

These will be the last mermaid possums I make until next year, so don’t miss your chance to grab one!

Inspired by Kate Schoeder’s light-up earrings, I asked for permission to use the LED idea because I couldn’t stop thinking about fireflies.

One of my favorite things is watching fireflies at night—like tiny ghost lights floating through the dark. It’s honestly a little sad how few you see now compared to before, probably because of pesticides.

Anyway, once I saw those earrings, I had to make something inspired by them. I just love fireflies.

It turned out to be a bigger challenge than I expected—ceramics shrink, and I lost a few prototypes along the way—but I finally managed to make two, and I’m really happy with how they turned out!

Now I feel like my own little firefly ✨

After all the encouragement on my last batch—now officially baptized as merpossums—I got inspired and ended up making three more figurines for my next (TBD) drop.

The first thing that came to mind was sharks, and then poof—a shark possum idea hit me. I got so excited I sculpted it in a single day.

A lot of you also said my first possum looked like Primarina… well, joke’s on you—now it really does. Starfish included.

And of course, the merpossums needed a friend, so a clownfish raccoon mermaid joined the party.
