Any songs you can think of that are NOT stoner rock, but contain great stoner rock-esque riffs?

I ask because I listened to “Willie the Pimp” by Zappa this morning and thought “damn, that’s a great stoner riff”

Like a lot of you I’ve been listening to demos of the CB Big Time and digging them. It does lots of sounds of course, but the preamp and limiter sounds seem of particular interest so I thought I’d do what I usually do when a sound catches my ear: create something similar in the LVX. Here I’m using the “drive” preamp in Pre, a limiter in Post, and using an envelope modifier on the threshold of the limiter to try to capture a little bit of that saggy Clean-type behavior. And at the end I’m doing a little half-speed / double speed action with the hold modifier.

Jingle Bell Fuzz!

Ho ho ho! In past years I’ve posted a video of myself playing a Christmas tune to accompany my entry in the r/guitarpedals album. Something different this time, you don’t have to look at my ugly mug but you get a look at each of the many fuzz pedals I used to record the sections of this song. From the super common to the super rare, I picked pedals that run the gamut! In addition to what you see pictured here, occasional ambience was provided by AnalogMan ARDX20, Meris Mercury 7, and the spring reverb in my Mesa Fillmore, which was used to record all the clips.

This project made me wish I was better at recording. If I could do it again I’d add a room mic of some kind, because just using one mic in front of the amp sort of flattened out the sound and I was surprised how some pedals that sound VERY different in the room sound more similar in this recording. Hope it is a worthwhile listen anyway.
