Is a stick blender quieter?

Our countertop blender is way to loud for early mornings. I feel guilty running it in the morning when kids are asleep. I am usually only blending a small amount at a time anyway, so dragging out the big blender is annoying. I am mostly using it to make baby food, mix oats, soft veggies those types of things.

I saw a koios immersion blender while searching but I am not sold on it yet. So are stick blenders in general quieter? Still noisy in their own way?

Anyone use one in an apartment or while people are sleeping? Is the low speed tolerable or is it still pretty clear someone is blending up food again at 6:30 am?

All consuming mom. Life

I love my family and my husband. Sometimes I am jealous of those divorced who get to have a life separate from being a mom. They get a real solid break( i understand not everyone is this way) my cousin is living their best life getting to have days to theirself and being a human. Being a mom is consuming. Its my only identity. Im a stay at home mom. Its all I do. I love and appreciate it but some days I wish I had myself again. What do you do to get yourself back?

Trying to make my kitchen lower toxic without going full cast iron

>!I am slowly replacing items to be lower toxic but I keep gettin stuck on kitchen and cookware! !<

Everything I read suggests stainless steel, cast iron, carbon steel and glass. I understand why those are the most popular however when I get home from work and cook I dont want to have to follow up with a 20 min pampering session for my cast iron pans.

It seems the "perfect non-toxic" pan may be impossible for me to find. I am trying to avoid things like teflon that gets scratched and transition to something PFAS free thats still useable for things like eggs, stir fry etc.

I have seen some ceramic sets like GreenPan, Caraway and Duxano. Caraway seems nice but feels bit pricey for what I need. Duxano is practical and a full set however I cannot seem to find many real user reviews outside of Amazon.

If you use ceramic does it actually make cooking easier? Does the coating hold up well? Do you still have cast iron or stainless steel around to cook certain foods?

Thanks for the input!

Are washable filters worth it or worthless?

I am looking to understand washable filters/ pre-filters before buying another purifier. Replacing filters is what keeps me from committing. It seems that I find a machine that looks affordable then I find the price of the filters and those are almost half the price of the purifier! I found some models that come with a washable filter but I am not sure how much those work.

From what I can tell the washable part isnt the real HEPA filter. It is more like the first layer that catches hair, dust, pet fur etc. That sounds great but I am trying to see if they actually hold up after repeat washing or if quickly becomes ineffective and gross with each washing.

For anyone that has had one for awhile

- does cleaning the pre-filter noticeably help the air flow?

- does it actually extend the life of the main filter?

- does it start to fall apart after a few washes?

- are there any brands or models where the filter replacement is an actual reasonable price?

Thanks in advanced! Looking for real-world use responses not just a copy paste from an amazon review!

thanks!
