Late this week a city garbage truck turning near the alley snagged a low hanging line to my house and ripped it off the side. It also damaged part of the electrical connection area. PNM came out and shut the power off because they said it was not safe until repairs are inspected.

The driver acknowledged it happened and a neighbor has Ring footage. The city says claims go through their risk department and my homeowners insurance says they need to know whether the city is accepting liability first.

If you have dealt with such what did the process look like? Thanks

looked into this earlier this year when I was trying to get from NYC to Miami for a few days and was comparing everything from basic economy to first class.

I kept running into people mentioning empty leg flights, and at first I assumed it was one of those sounds amazing online, never works in real life things.

I understand, they happen when a private jet has to reposition and the operator sells that segment instead of flying empty. But since they’re one way, can shift timing, and may leave from smaller airports, I’m wondering how often the math actually beats first class once you factor everything in.ty

A few weeks ago I jumped on an empty leg from LA to Vegas because a family thing came together last minute and i briefly decided i too should experience clearance rack private aviation.

The actual flying part? Extremely normal. Real jet, real pylotes, no TSA cattle ritual, very strong ....this is how people become unbearable....energy.

What was not normal was everything before that.

The departure time kept moving just enough to make me realize empty legs are basically repositioning flights with attachment issues. The plane is going where it’s going because of someone else’s charter, and you’re just kind of taped onto the logistics until Chad decides he’s actually leaving later.

So yeah, empty legs are real. They’re just less ...secret rich person travel hack..and more “premium standby with leather seats and emotional damage.
