Looking for some advice from the gurus regarding my 2011 LML Duramax. She’s recently developed a crank start stall/ crank no start issue. I replaced the fuel filter and housing which didn’t fix the problem. So I sent to it my local diesel mechanic who said the new housing was bad. Ok put a new one on… sits overnight with them and fires up in the morning. I come get it that night and she fires up. I leave it set this weekend and go crank it after two days and she doesn’t want to start unless I manually prime it at the housing.
The shop claimed they checked all the fuel lines and connections and everything looked good. Clearly something is still allowing air in the fuel lines. Has anyone had experienced with a problem such as this on their LML?
This summer I got my boys (twins aged 13) into painting mailboxes around our residential community. I set them up with a tool bag, brushes, paint, tape, etc... So far they've done about 35 mailboxes and have generated about $600 in net profit. They've really taken off with the idea and are now sourcing business entirely on their own as they've come to enjoy generating their own income.
I'm an entrepreneur by heart and own a business in the finance industry. I got to thinking this morning about starting up a vending machine business that would teach them about managing inventories, profit margins and customers. Eventually as they grow old enough to drive, they could take this over, manage it themselves, and have a jump start at business ownership at a young age.
With all that said, I'm curious to learn from those who are doing it or have done it... what risks should I be considering... the biggest being my time as I already have a more than full time job. What is it like to manage one of these... what about machine down time and repairs... advantageous businesses to set machines up in... In general is this a worth while idea?
