What are your anecdotal stories about bad stops working in LP? Bad-stops are usually zero-tolerance from what I’ve seen but i’m interested to see the situation and the outcome. Thank you!

Asking because a lot of anecdotal stories or just telling of the workplace experience in this subreddit make it seem like borderline slave labor.

Not being able to buy things on the clock? (i understand getting your groceries for the week, but not even 1-5 items?)

No drinks on the sales floor?

No music while pulling in the stockrooms?

Not to mention the people who got CAs for little things like waiting for their starbucks before clocking out.

Maybe I take my store for granted because I consider all of these things a necessity, and I don’t consider it pushing the boundaries of what you’re allowed to do on the clock, but like jesus guys, you actually have some horrible conditions upheld by your leaders. The new “guest experience” thing has changed pretty much nothing for us except for the dress code, also. As long as I do a good job like always, nobody really cares what I do.

a few days ago my ex texted me, and we chatted for a while. she was deleting photos of us 5 months after i broke up with her and got sentimental about it.

one of the things she said was, not everyone hates you or is out to get you. to a lot of the things she said, i got really defensive and hateful, worse than i’ve seen myself before, but this made me think. i really do push everyone away. for the past 5 moths i’ve been doing really good, until i had a one-week fling that i pushed away immediately (i feel stupidly guilty for getting into this at all,) and i said something harsh to my spanish partner in response to a joke. that really hit me, and i tried apologizing almost immediately, but it didn’t work. it was the last day of classes today, and she’s graduating so ill never see her again, but i sent a message to apologize anyway and it didn’t matter.

i really do push everyone away, even those i only sit next to in class. i was doing so good for such a long time, i don’t know why im taking so many steps back, and it hurts. i don’t want to keep pushing everyone away.
