His Love is Enough for both of them

His Love is Enough for both of them

I have unreal amount of love for this scene. And I cannot stop watching it.

So much is unsaid, but not unheard.

On the surface, it may seem like Nawab is making it happen. For himself. Because he misses her.

I think it's deeper than that.

Yeah, he misses his old Heer. Who used to match his freakiness. Who was bold. And most of the times made Nawab blush with her spunkiness.

And she still loves Nawab a lot. Even after all this time and despite whatever has happened between them. But her wounds are too deep to express that love in ways both of them are used to. Or even in any form that someone would normally expect. She is hurt and confused and doesn't know what to feel.

So Nawab is doing the heavylifting for both of them. He is expressing his love in ways he knows best while also respecting her boundaries. Gently making space in her life again, while also teasing her, bickering with her, challenging her.

But there are also moments like these, where it's visible in her eyes that she wants this. She loves being with him. Close to him. She just isn't completely where he is, even if she wants to be.

And he is okay with that. That's why he put her hand on his face. Because he could feel that she wanted this too. And she did. She didn't push him back. Didn't pull away. Reciprocated as best as she could. Slowly. Wistfully. And he let her do that at her own pace.

It's love in its purest form and it's so so beautiful to watch.

I love that her harshness (which may or may not be due to Ajit) doesn't deter him. He is still there for her. He wants to make their marriage work.

That's why the choice to do the 7th phera is with her. He did all 6 for both of them. Now whether or not she wants to do the last one, is on her. And it takes an unreal amount of love and understanding to respect your partner's wishes and leave the fate of the relationship in their hands.

It takes a love like Nawab's to still be able to hope and not give up on their relationship. He wants to heal her, help her. And he does want to be with her. But he is doing everything on her terms.

And I love this a lot.

The net amount of entitlement in this scene is unbelievable

I have to give it to Kimmy.

2 din hue hain aaye hue. And she is passing judgments on whether HEER is GOOD FOR NAWAB.

Bhai Heer hi leke aayi hai tujhe is ghar me paagal aurat!! Dilip ko to padi bhi nahi thi. He hadn't even told anyone about you.

And it's funny. She is planning to ride on Dilip's shoulders to do raaj on Brar khandaan? Dilip who is the most spineless dude in TJJDverse (surpassing even Jimmy, coz he at least stands with Richa in the corner designated to both of them in every episode).

Wo to Nawab tha jo chup baith gaya (him and Heer did clock her nicely though ngl).

Upar se Cherry / Sahiba has the gall to say ''Heer leke aayi thi meri ma ko is ghar me' as if her mother just didn't call Heer bad for her own husband.

How entitled do you have to be to try and get in a family's matters and when being called out rightfully, you show them attitude? Dude.

Man is this scene going to stay with me for a long time

I know what Nawab did may feel a bit harsh.

Forcing Heer to face her fears.

But I think he is trying the same tough love that he has learned from Heer herself. She wouldn't let him stay like this for long. She would challenge him. And make him scrap his way out of darkness.

I know it seems harsh. I know Heer's trauma is by far the most painful thing any of them has faced so far.

But I think her pain is making him desperate enough to do whatever it takes.

Hence the bechara lines from the lockup to make her step inside.

When he says he cannot see Heer like this, I don't think it's for selfish reasons. It's because he wants to heal her. It isn't about him. It's about her. Her pain. Her trauma. Her healing.

And I am very happy with the writing and dialogues here. This scene was exactly the right amount of gentle, heartfelt and full of love. Just like Nawab.

Aur Paas...

Can I say how glad I am that these two are finally behaving like a young couple that they are in the show's universe?

Heer is still recuperating. And is still carries a lot of hurt. As she should.

But in moments like these, when she is surprised, and doesn't have a complete handle on her emotions, she still gets pulled towards him. Even if for a few seconds.

Because there's still so much between them, it's impossible not to feel anything when you're so close (can I say how glad I am that they are living together?)

That's why, even if he gets carried away too, he doesn't force it. He finally leaves it up to her.

Nawab isn't used to seeing Heer like this. Demure. Running away from a fight (or a moment like this). Not facing him eye to eye, but instead getting intimidated. He is used to her matching his freak for hers. He is used to seeing her openly desiring him, not taking off her eyes off him. I think he misses her. And hence he tries to create moments like these.

But there's also the fact that Heer is physically and emotionally unable to reciprocate anything at the moment. She probably wants to, given she still lets him in, doesn't resist, hugs him back during moments (like when he came to save her during the hostel incident). But she just isn't herself right now. And Nawab understands that too.

I loved yesterday's episode. A lot. It had sizzling moments like these, but also their bickering.

There was also Heer being the tough love queen that she is - scolding him for getting hurt while also taking care of him. There was Nawab being heartfelt in the middle of a crisis. And him being feral at the wrong person at the wrong time - but it's Heer. He would for her. At any given time of the day.

Yesterday was a good day. I didn't care about Nawab's big brotherly moment tbh. Because I see no depth there and it's a bit shoe horned.

Also, can someone tell me why is Ayush doing 10 second cameos in every episode?

Tumhari Heer

I loved this scene.

Heer has a lot of healing to do. And what happened to Nawab shouldn't sideline what she went through. But in times of crisis, you set aside your own pain and make space for the people you love the most.

Heer has always done this.

Growing up, she did it for her mom and sister. Stayed strong so they didn't need to. Made her own way so they didn't have to.

She did it for Nawab too, when they stayed at Brar house. Kept the humiliation and her wounded self-respect aside because Nawab was suffering at the time too. And she loved him.

The depth of what she suffered during this leap is unfathomable, going by the impact it has had on her personality. The fighter in her not wanting to fight anymore. She has taken so many blows that the fight left her, leaving a ghost in its place which only rears its head when it comes to protecting the people she loves.

And yet, when it came to Nawab's life, she set everything aside and ran to be at his side, literally got him back to life, and refused to leave him.

The immense, deep love these two have for each other breaks and melts your heart in equal measure.

Junooniyat Jatt Di

Man.

What a scene! What an entry!

Also, 'tumne socha hai wo kya karega agar tumhe kuch ho gaya to?'

MY BADASS JATT!

u/bhayankarpari8 — 27 days ago

O Re Piya

I have tears in my eyes.

And also the biggest smile on my face.

My heart is full.

And is also breaking.

He came for her.

He saved her.

They still had time to mock-bicker before they embraced each other.

Months of distance - emotional, physical - and that HUG. Because how could they not?

He came for her.

He had to.

And then she helped save him too.

She had to.

I saw a tiny glimpse of the crazy Heer today.

The Juliet of the Jatt.

(Fateh too).

How could she not escape from the cage Ajit mistakenly thinks he can (temporarily) capture her in?

It was Nawab.

She had to.

The scene, the episode will stay in my heart for a long time.

Because yes, the things will not resolve so easily. But these two people who are truly, madly, completely in love can do anything for each other. Especially when crisis hits. When all bets are off.

I loved the tiny parallel to the scene where Heer gave Nawab her hand, and trust, when it really mattered as opposed to the previous scene when she had refused to take both his hand and help.

I also really liked Waaris and Cherry's scene today.

Waaris, finally learning responsibility and doing what is necessary for the person who is important to him.

I actually liked Nitin's acting today. And also his and Cherry's banter.

The new entry is a bit odd. Did she really not know her daughters are staying in Chandigarh where her sister (is that who Gulab is? I'm getting doubts now because Dilip said 'mera beta' rather than Nawab and they looked like old flames rather than relatives) and her family lives.

Looking forward to tomorrow with my heart in my throat.

Also.

Mr Amit. Wish you a very Happy Birthday.

TJJD is what it is because of YOU.

And that will always be a fact.

Thank you for everything.

Nawab Chachu 🥹🥹🥹

Nawab is burning.

With anger. Rage. Guilt. And sparks of conscience that keep telling him he's not the villain he's trying to be.

Like Heer said. His love is both his strength and his weakness. He can do anything FOR the people he loves. And can do anything TO the people he hates. Heer doesn't know how much he still loves her. And that love is what has become the root of all his anger and frustration. But she still understands him better than anyone else.....and still defends him even tho she can choose not to. My poor girl 😭

We got to know a lot of things.

Anmol's pregnancy continues without any issues (that Nawab Chachu line was so jarring and heartfelt at the same time. I seriously can't visualize this Gadha being responsible for a little person).

Dilip still trusts Heer.

Cherry now knows Nawab and Heer were married.

My issue is this.

Nawab isn't Heer's responsibility. He is an adult. A lost one, yes. But an adult nevertheless. His emotions, his outbursts, his anger isn't for Heer to manage (even if she is the only one who can). It should be on the adults in his life. So Dilip asking Heer to talk to Nawab despite his brutal behavior (I know he doesn't know the extent of it but still) is selfish.

I want to like the cutesy elements on the show. But ngl they feel a bit shoehorned and I guess they'll take time to grow on me.

Nawab and Cherry's fight for example. I mean.....it was heartening to know that Nawab is still a good human below all the layers of jackassery but him trying to force feed Cherry that laddoo was a bit too much (especially given the intensity of the scene before that). It was cute (especially Raza) but still.

So was Cherry climbing Waris's window and the entire fight.

Btw, Nawab giving lectures to the juniors and then losing his own temper on the goons was funny.

The scene where Heer remembers her and Nawab's past was really, really heartbreaking. Her standing up for Nawab when he definitely doesn't deserve it even more so. It physically pained me to see their happy flashbacks and from Heer's POV, I cannot imagine how hurtful the memories would be for her.

We are not getting Nawab's POV directly. But the episode was very much Nawab centric. Heer, Dilip, Anmol, even Kozo talk about him and his feelings.

What he feels, what he does, why he does it.

Day before yesterday was dark. And it almost made me not want to watch.

But thankfully things are looking up. And we are slowly getting to understand the pain behind his anger. It doesn't absolve him of what he did. And it's going be a long, hard road of repentance before anyone, including Heer gives him a chance.

But it's looking up and it's a relief.

My heart continuously breaks for Heer. As always, she is asked to be the adult in the relationship, keeping aside her own mental health, something that also happened with Neelu as she grew up - Heer was responsible for the people in her life, setting aside her own pain, even as a child. I hate that she's asked to be the mature and responsible one when she is also 20, suffered through the biggest trauma of her life and is also equally fragile.

Nawab used to the one person who loved and supported her without asking for anything in return (barring the Dadi track of course - which can't be negated unfortunately but was nevertheless an aberration). I'm glad at least Neelu is the rock now that Heer always needed her to be. It's still annoying to watch though that everyone asks her to be the bigger person just because she has been throughout her life.

And even though Heer thinks he now hates her, I don't think she realizes how deeply and incorrigibly he still loves her and the same love is driving him insane right now. He can never hate her. She thinks he considers her his enemy but even she knows at the bottom of her heart that is not true. It's just like she said....his love is his weakness and he hates that.

Sigh.

Things finally seem to go somewhere judging by the precap.

Fingers crossed. I need some respite for real.

Nawab....

This was one of the hardest scenes I have ever watched, and not just in TJJD (actually, I never watched it in its original run. I watched it much, much later - when Heewab were united and I was hoping in vain that at least now they will have a shot at happiness).

Will come to Raza's performance a bit later.

I first want to talk about Nawab's state of mind here. Heer had broken up with him a month ago. And he never knew why. She told him she didn't love him, doesn't feel anything for him and that she needs space. He didn't believe her. But respected her wishes anyway.

But he didn't give up. Kept waiting outside Heer's house, hoping, expecting some answers. Or maybe some semblance of hope. And he didn't just do that. He worked on himself. Tried to make himself better. A hard worker, a winner - which in his mind, is what someone like Heer deserved. Laser focused towards achieving his life goals. Basically, he never stopped hoping to get back with Heer one day. He didn't push. He didn't beg. He just focused on himself.

And then, a few moments before this scene, he found out that Heer is engaged to Arjun. And the reason? Just that he asked?

Even in his state of shock, anger and absolute devastation, he did what was necessary (not the Jogi Mahi dance obviously). Confirmed if Heer was happy and took his leave, without making too apparent what exactly was going on in his head.

And then he came here. The place where he had spent so many moments with Heer. This place reminded me of the moments of happiness and love he shared with her. Their first date, the butterflies, the giddiness of having found each other, his heart leaping out as she rode with him to their first of the many moments, that in his mind, they were going to create together.

And now this place sat empty. And reminded him of the state of his failed relationship.

Nawab's reaction is so visceral here, I felt it in my heart what he was going through. Heer wasn't just his wife. She was his first love. Someone he had fallen hard and deep without meaning to and who had become everything to him, and now the hope of ever getting her had been completely destroyed. In a few moments, he had lost his everything. And the happy moments at this place that reminded him of what they could have been were far more distressing than his current reality.

I cannot emphasize enough how much awe I am in of Raza's performance here.

The sudden burst of smile through his tears when he remembered their first date and then his kicking and destroying everything was so so well acted, I teared up.

This scene was so well written, acted and directed - it's still really difficult to watch.

Shivangi and Anurag had issues, but they never compromised on Nawab and his feelings. Here we feel what Nawab is feeling. We see his dreams being dashed in front of his eyes. We see him losing all hope as he lashes out at the world and himself.

Basically, we see his point of view clear like a day.

I wish we had this in the current track. Like I can see the subtleties in the performance - the voice always on the verge of breaking; the guilt, the shock, the constant struggle with his self - and yet we see him doing things that the Nawab we know would never do.

It's difficult to watch. Even more difficult than the above scene, which in itself is so painful.

I wish Nawab comes back soon. Because his way back is looking difficult with every passing day.

WEIRD WRITING CHOICE(s)

Today's episode was so weird and frankly, really triggering.

Heer has had a traumatic life. But she is a survivor. She has never depended on anyone to achieve what she wants - not even her family. She is used to being a Lone Warrior and she has always, always won her battles on the basis of sheer willpower, perseverance and never say die attitude.

She has never been a damsel.

She has never needed anyone to fight her battles.

She has never needed saving.

Having Nawab in her life did not mean she stopped fighting for herself. In fact, he encouraged her to do it. All he did was become the support that would make her battles a little bit easier. She called him her Farishta, yes. But not because he saved her. She always saved herself. But he supported and trusted her when no one else did. He became her partner in the truest sense, when even her family abandoned her. He didn't become a beacon of light. He became her shadow.

Yes, Nawab saved her a lot of times and in a lot of life threatening situations. Nothing takes that away. What I mean is that Heer is one such person, who would find a way out even if Nawab hadn't been there. Him being in her life, with her at every step was a blessing. But his absence never meant she stopped walking towards the destination she had chosen for herself.

And even now, I don't think that's the case.

Nawab's behavior is very very, and I can't emphasize this enough, very disgusting and all sorts of adjectives right now. In his head, he may have justified that (for good reasons). But that doesn't invalidate what Heer has gone through and what she is facing due to his lack of empathy and one-mindedness. I am so disappointed and frankly revolted that it's taking others to point this out to him.

Heer, who has never kept quiet, is unable to call him out for anything.

Heer, who never backed down from a fight, is giving up without a fight for everything that's been thrown at her.

Heer, who always chose her self-respect over everything else, even her love, is bearing all insults and humiliation like it's nothing.

Yes, Nawab is in pain and is also slightly afraid, just like he was after Thailavati reveal. His anger was a mask for his hurt feelings - and he's doing the same right now. While then, Heer gave him back for his every move, right now, she is too broken to do that. And he, out of all people, should have realized that.

The whistling scene was SO WEIRD (and no, I don't believe Nawab had anything to do with Heer's trauma - he was simply sabotaging her by cutting off the internet. Heer's panic attack was a coincidence - NEVERTHELESS, A WEIRD WRITING CHOICE).

What is even more weird is - WHY DID WE NEED THAT SCENE WHERE HE BREAKS HER STRESS BALL? It was one thing when he didn't know what she is going through. And now he saw, and thought she is acting anyway? She was breaking down privately in that corridor? For whom was she even acting?

At this point, Nawab doesn't need redemption. He needs a miracle. Because what the hell?

Satyam and Eisha seem competent writers - but ever since they stepped in - Nawab's character has been distorted in a lot of ways (Dadi track being the most significant example).

They did a great job in the Bhatinda track. Nawab earned his redemption. But I still feel it was very rushed so he wasn't able to earn it all the way. Still, it is one of the cleanest tracks on the show, with a defined start and conclusion, great character moments, amazing blend of romance and comedy and also heartfelt scenes.

This is the only reason I am still putting my faith in them - because I hope to God they don't take this further. Raza can do dark amazingly well. That doesn't mean we have to push Nawab in a territory where it's impossible to come back from.

The show is about romance. I don't mind the thriller element (I do mind that Heer is suffering alone though and I hope she doesn't have to). But I hope creators do remember that THE SHOW IS BASED ON ROMANCE AND HEEWAB ARE THE ENDGAME (Sargun keeps re-iterating this, and also that we need to be patient but at this point, the latter is wafer thin for me right now).

SIGH. I don't know how much more emotional atyachar I'm willing to take.

Nawab - The Lost Jerk

Nawab Brar is one of the best persons to have in your life. If he loves you, you're lucky, because he'll do anything for you. Hold nothing against you. Forgive you without questions. Love you without conditions. He has an open heart. And he loves with all of it.

But his love also comes with pain. He can hurt you deeply. And he also doesn't apply a lot of logic and rationality in any of his life situations, especially when it concerns the people he loves.

It's his fatal flaw and also the reason he is so open and forgiving.

He IS behaving like a first class jerk right now. He is doing things which would have been inconceivable for him and unforgivable by all definitions. And it will take a LONG and HARD road to repentance (deservedly so), which will earn him every bit of trust he is losing with everyone right now.

Intentionally hurting Heer, which in a normal situation, would be the last thing he could ever even thinj of doing - he's now doing every second.

Humiliating her, just so that he doesn't have to face his fear and guilt and broken memories, is something he had grown out of long ago. But it has made a comeback and how.

Nawab doesn't know how to handle pain. When he is hurting, he lashes out. And it always leads him to doing something impulsive and irrational. And more often than not hurting people he loves (and in most cases, it's Heer).

And he is in tremendous pain right now. Taking care of a sick family member, that too someone you loved the most in the world, is an ordeal that takes its toll on you every day. And I appreciate that we get to understand how MUCH pain is he in upon seeing his mother like that.

Yes, in his heart, he doesn't actually believe Heer tried to kill Gulab. Rather, I think he more likely blames her for being adamant about doing what she felt was right and the cost of which is the wreckage of everything in his life, including losing the two people he loves the most.

But it's easier to direct his anger on Heer rather than admit that his mother could have done what Heer was saying - that even in her death, she was playing games. That even in the moments before she fell, she would rather hurt his son by doing this to the girl he loves. And it's also easier than blaming his own self for where they are - because even that's a fact, isn't it? He couldn't believe Heer even though he had promised her. Even though he had never needed proof to believe her before (until it came to Dadi and Gulab of course).

However, as much as he's being like this, I also know that this Nawab is only one side of the Nawab who still has a LOT of LOVE for Heer (hence the visceral intensity of his anger and annoyance towards her).

Who would take a bullet for her.

Who would put a knife on his neck for her safety.

Who would jump out of moving cars to make sure she isn't alone.

Who would get in life threatening boxing matches to save her life.

Who would leave money, status, family, name, fame, individuality - everything for her in a heartbeat.

Who would never ever doubt her love for him, even if she says otherwise.

Who would love her and still harbour a tiny shred of hope in his heart, even if she were getting married to someone else.

Who would never ever give up on Heewab, even when there is zero possibility of them becoming Heewab again.

Who would always, always put her safety and we'll being above himself.

That Nawab is still very much there. He's just being suppressed by the angry, impulsive, hardened Nawab whose life is completely devoid of love right now.

Who somewhere mourns the loss of relationships in his life but also the version of himself who could forgive easily. Who could love without holding grudges.

Everything is clouded by the massive chip on his shoulder and heart for the world he's being forced to live in without both Gulab and Heer.

His behavior is very, very disgusting right now. But I also know that this is someone, who is in a lot of pain and is doing what he is doing to somehow get rid of the source of that pain.

It's not right. But I understand why he's doing what he's doing.

As Neelu rightly said, someone who loves like him, with all his heart, is also capable of hurting you with the same intensity.

Nawab Brar is a jerk right now. But he's a lost jerk who would eventually make his way back.

Darkness and Light

Ever since I watched the leap promo, it's been hard. To think about the show. To watch the episodes. To write about it. I just could not bring myself to do it.

And I should have known better than to invest and attach so much on a fictional TV show (whose creators clearly like to see its audience suffer). But when you've loved someone for so long, it's hard to let go. Heer and Nawab aren't just fictional characters anymore. They are people I genuinely want to see happy, even if their story is full of constant absence of that and it breaks my heart to see them suffer. So I think it's way past the 'it's-just-a-show' station and I'm just leaning into it now.

I had planned to not watch after the leap. The constant loop of separation, pain, suffering was exhausting and the wait for their reunion just didn't seem worth it. But for various reasons, I ended up watching and well.....I am still reeling a bit.

First things first. The episode is BEAUTIFUL to look at. Truly a collection of some of the most mesmerizing frames and shots in the entire show and that's saying something because TJJD has them in droves.

Not just the frames - the close ups, Heer and Nawab's expressions, their reactions.....even the light (or the absence of it) in their eyes. Everything has been captured so magnificently, I am in awe of the man called Mr Malik (and also our OG cameraman Mr Amit). Every shot is like a pretty painting. Heer looks beautiful even in the simplest of clothes. Nawab looks dashing even in the blandest clothes he's ever worn in the show. I have to give it to them. It's a beautiful package.

What's inside though?

Well. Honestly, I am extremely unhappy with the direction the show has decided to take. TJJD was one corner of ITV which was untouched by stupid twists like murder and mayhem and women throwing themselves in hundred feet ditches as a last act of control/revenge (I mean what the hell?). And yet. It did happen. Truly one of the most absurd things I've watched on TV and it's so sad that a bunch of talented actors, directors, and creative team (I know they are good because when they want to - they are truly good) have to be associated with this monstrosity forever.

But the acting, writing, direction and the depiction of pain is on point. And well, I have to give credit where it's due (not giving any credit to the creative team here, who think that pain is the only way drama can catch eyeballs on TV - it seems they haven't ever watched their own show).

Heer and Nawab

It's hard to watch them like this. It truly is. But the way they look.....all light and happiness drained out from them, their life and their existence is....captured so beautifully here. I have seen Heer devastated before. When she broke up with Nawab last. But somehow this Heer is different from that one? (Really really big kudos to Jasmeet for that) That Heer was fragile. Like she looked so vulnerable and broken that you could see how she is carrying pieces of herself somehow. But this Heer? She is so lifeless. It's not just the love of her life that has left her - her smile, her tenderness, even a tad bit of hope she used to carry despite the struggles in her life - she's just devoid of everything now. She truly does feel like an empty shell. But all this while, she's never forgotten how to survive. Something she's still doing, even though she seems to be on autopilot permanently.

And Nawab? Well. His case is truly something we've never seen before. After Heer broke up with him last, he was in pain - but he was outwardly still happy and carefree. He had completely changed from inside, but on the outside - everything still remained the same. He talked to everyone with the same joie de vivre, even Heer (even though he used to lash out when it got too hard, and I don't blame him for that). His clothes, his mannerisms, his overall behavior was still very much Nawab, even though it was costing him everything to do that. He didn't want anyone to know what was going on with him. His pain, his devastation and....his tiny shred of optimism that one day Heewab would be together again, was very internalized, very private. Something that only came out in rare moments.

This Nawab (as Dilip likes to call him - Nawab 3.0), doesn't give a damn about outward appearances anymore. He isn't exactly cold? But he is lifeless too. His eyes don't gleam. He's forgotten to smile. There's a reluctant somberness on his face that is such a stark contrast to Nawab who never took himself seriously, even when he was in life-threatening situations. This Nawab has given everything he's ever loved and it's leeched every drop of sunshine that made him who he was. His eyes are dark, his face stoic and stony.

There's only one thing that's still remnant of that Nawab. He's still running away from pain instead of facing it. Thinking about Heer and cricket is painful. So he's parked them in a corner (literally and figuratively), where he doesn't have to think about them.

When you love someone so much, carrying that love in your heart feels like a burden. You want to be free of it but also can't live without it. Nawab seems to be living in this strange limbo, doesn't know what to do about it and so just keeps living life as lifelessly as he can. Imagine, Dilip, who had always told him to study rather than play cricket is asking him to do the latter instead but Nawab is the one who wants to focus on studies because he doesn't want to be a loser anymore (apparently both cricket and Heer make him feel like one).

There is an amazing scene, where Heer and Nawab immerse themselves in water, trying to relive the irmemories but also forget them, trying to get a few moments in peace while simultaneously trying not to breathe because even that is painful. It's so cinematic, so beautiful, so amazingly edited, I'm short of words. But it's so incredibly devastating to watch two people whom you love so much in such absolute pain and you feel for them. It shows Nawab's bats burning into flames as he's completely submerged in water - it's a magnificent scene, but also quiet distressing.

This one scene above is the only moment where he comes close to a smile.

And I have to again mention how beautiful and amazingly shot this scene is. Nawab, who used to be a walking kaleidoscope, with his bright and colorful jackets, shoes, even watches - is now completely bland from head to toe. He's still handsome. But it's like he hates everything that represents life. In this shot, he's surrounded by colors in all directions - and he stands out like an oddity that doesn't belong. There is even a meta joke about him dressing like an 'uncle' and him talking about 'today's generation'. Sigh. He is in the second year of college and he's acting like someone who carries the burden of life on his shoulders - just like Heer used to do when he first met her.

College scenes were frankly uninteresting for me. The two new characters - Cherry/Sahiba and Varis - their characters have not been written well. Even their entry was clumsily shot. And their dialogues are completely devoid of any humor and charm that would make me like them (barring that one Khajur dialogue which was slightly ok). Also, they called him the new 'Thailavati'. Really guys????

What actually was most infuriating was Arjun and Nawab being buddies. Really writers? Arjun - the guy who said such disgusting lies about the woman Nawab loves - has that been forgotten already? When is this guy getting a payback for all the vile stuff he's done so far?

Nawab and Gulab's scene was touching but a bit absurd (also no ring on his finger so I guess - yay?) When did Gulab ever want him to quit cricket? I also didn't understand - is Nawab blaming himself for what happened? (based on flashbacks). If yes, then why did he say what he said about Heer? (I understand it could be a complex mix of guilt and anger - but I honestly don't find the writers intelligent enough to actually incorporate that). I guess we'll have to wait and watch what happens tomorrow.

I accuse Richa of interrupting the OG SR

SHE INTERRUPTED THE SR OF TWO LOVEBIRDS WHO ARE SO SHARMILE THAT IT TAKES THEM 10 SECONDS OF AWKWARDNESS TO REEL FROM A FREAKING KISS! AND THIS LADY INTERRUPTED THEIR SUHAAAG RAAT!

Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai

I'll keep rewatching this episode for a long long time. And this scene.

Tujhme Rab Dikhta hai is a once in a lifetime song. Everything about it permeates your soul in a way that is difficult to express in words alone.

And for some reason, each and every line of this song feels like it's written for Heer and Nawab, and especially fits so well in this scene and situation that my heart aches just looking at both of them.

Tu hi to jannat meri, tu hi mera junoon (You're my heaven, you're my obsession)

Tu hi to mannat meri, tu hi rooh ka sukoon (You're my prayer, you're my soul's comfort)

Tu hi ankhiyon ki thandak (You're a relief to sore eyes)

Tu hi dil ki hai dastak (Your're a knock on my heart)

Heer and Nawab are special. Always have been. Not just because they are two unique characters whose story reminds me of what tender, innocent love looks like. But also because looking at them in love makes me want to feel everything that represents first love.

They make me want to feel that deep seated affection that you can only feel when you look at the person you love and care about most in the world.

I loved that Nawab was caught by surprise when Heer unintentionally slept on his shoulder. And I loved loved loved that he tenderly took his hand in hers, leaned his head on hers and then closed his eyes like the most contented person on Earth.

The 'mat jao's were so heartfelt and earnest.....it would have melted anyone's heart. Heer didn't push him away. Or pull herself back. She held him and leaned into him again and slept.

It's such a nice scene, my heart heals a little everytime I look at them.

Of course, the shots are perfect too. Their faces bathed in golden light. The close ups. And the final zoom out with the golden lights and flames. It's beautiful beyond words.

Haath mat Chhodna

I have a lot of thoughts for today's episode. And all the scenes. Things that can't be condensed in one post.

I cannot emphasize how much I loved this scene.

THE AESTHETICS

Her lilac against his navy blue.

The bright red of her chooda against his hand and the golden kalash.

The colorful kites behind them.

The golden glow on their faces.

The vast shiv ling in its truly majestic glory.

THEIR THOUGHTS

Her fear. Hope. Anxiety. Anticipation. And finally leaving all the doubts and uncertainty up to God and universe.

His eternal optimism. Slight determination. And trust in God.

Them coming together to do what is necessary, like always.

THE BACKGROUND SCORE

The gradual build up towards the crescendo. It suited and elevated the scene so much.

A very ITV coded but truly amazing scene. I loved every bit of it.

I'm a semi-religious person, and the scene still managed to give me goosebumps.

And last but not the least, they both look so beautiful in this!!!!!

The most wholesome LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT ever

I started watching Yeh Hai Mohabbatein quite late. I think by that time Ishita and Raman were already married and fighting for Ruhi's custody.

So when years later I came across this scene, I was pleasantly surprised!

Firstly, this was heartwarmingly wholesome. They didn't do a conventional meet-cute between the leads. Instead, it was Ishita and Ruhi who meet first. Not only this was unprecedented (for itv at least), it was also indicative of the direction the show intended to take - a mother-daughter story above everything else.

And the show held true to it (before it took a nosedive in the later episodes, just like every Star Plus and Ekta product).

Ishita and Raman's love story was amazing. They were polar opposites, broken in their own ways, in respective stages of their lives where they had strong opinions of their own and a lot of bitterness due to their individual experiences. And yet, they managed to team up for the person they loved most and always kept above their egos and mutual dislike - Ruhi.

The girl was lost and broken too, just like in this scene. She had not experienced parental love, had difficulty expressing herself and had a LOT of complicated relationships in her life for a young kid.

Ruhi-Ishita's bond healed both of them. Ruhi got to experience mother's love in its purest form, which went beyond blood, familial ties and society conventions. Ishita, who had always been made to feel incomplete and damaged due to her inability to bear children, was truly, unconditionally accepted by Ruhi. It healed her in ways none of them could have imagined. Being Ruhi's mother gave her strength to overcome society's opinions and finally realize that not all relations need to be defined by blood and a woman did not need to give birth to be a mother.

The show undid a lot of its original charm due to the storylines in its latter half. But I'll always appreciate the unconventional relationships it made me love with all their messiness and complications.

A rare win for Ekta.

Rom + Com

Ok. Am I officially in a parallel universe or did Mr Nawab Brar actually attempt some..... accountability?

Someone, please pinch me. My boy is finally taking a stand?

I am going to ignore all editing issues because I am loving whatever they're doing with the story and the episodes.

I loved the hug, yes. But I ADORED the nervous Heer, who mistakenly planted a hug on him, and then realized she is still supposed to be angry at her husband.

I loved the three soft 'mujhe pata hai'. The slightly adulting, understanding Nawab is.............irresistible.

I loved that he understands he would not be forgiven so soon and so easily.

I loved that he understands that yes, Heer loves him and cares for him but she's still in pain and he needs to respect her feelings.

I loved that he just let her be and didn't say anything else beyond that he understands.

Also I LOVED THAT NAWAB FINALLY ADDRESSED WHAT NEEDED TO HAVE BEEN DONE LONG BACK!!

See, I understand he is not blameless in this entire fiasco and he should NOT have let Heer suffer at the hands of Daler and Gulab like this. He needs to pay for that and I'm sure he will.

But the way he has never held his loved ones (especially Heer) accountable and always let them in his life without any conditions or questions despite whatever they made him go through has always made me feel he is being shortchanged. Even if it's the wrong occasion and situation, I am glad that he's finally asking the right things.

Yes, he needed to take a stand for Heer back in Brar House. But I think all of us have wished that he also took a stand for HIMSELF. And I'm kind of glad it started with Heer. Because yes, Heer went through a LOT to get Nawab back. But she also didn't trust him to make the right decisions for himself. And it led to substantial heartbreak for them.

I hope this continues from hereon (writers, for once, please give me a GOOD conclusion!)

The Rom has slowly been creeping its way in, along with the com. Raza doing the panicky Nawab always makes me laugh out loud, especially when he's annoyed at Heer.

Also, 'Heer Brar - oh sorry - Sandhu'?? LOL.

See, I'm kinda uninterested in the twist in Nimrit's tale because......well, I want this storyline to go as long as possible. But I'm not going to lie, it's going in an unexpected direction.

Are we finally going to find out why this insane woman is after Junior Brar? Also, nitpicking but suddenly Nimrit is giving these murdery looks to Daler as if the woman didn't just punch her in the nose two episodes ago? Ye ho kya raha hai?

Anyhoo. Anti-jinx and all but another BANGER!

Keep it coming y'all.

P.S.: Jahaan Tum. Wahi Mera Ghar. This boy 🥹 (I don't even care if he followed her scent to that house of horrors)

Hope and Reality

I guess it's a good sign when I don't mind Mr B Praak's booming voice in my ears even when I am least expecting it? Or have I been Stockholm Syndromed into liking it by TJJD and Dreamiyata which was the aim all along?

Khair.

Such a beautiful episode. Literally and figuratively.

I love a yearny Nawab. And more than that, I love the Nawab who is gentle, understanding and knows how to be supportive without making everything about himself and his love.

I don't think any of us including Heer have had any doubt on his love. That's never been a question. He loves Heer with everything he has. It's just that his impulsiveness and short-sightedness sometimes lead to situations whose burden love alone cannot bear. But today, he was AMAZING.

He was so Nawab today that despite whatever he has done, my heart is starting to go out to him again. The way he looked at Heer - with hopeful hopelessness, the burden of hurt which he's bearing in his heart and which he can see on her face, the intensity of everything he is feeling in the moment - made me happy and sad at the same time.

(I'll keep repeating it till eternity but no one can inject beauty in little moments like Mr Malik. You can see everything going on in Nawab's head through his eyes and it's breathtaking)

I also understand why Heer wavered (I would have too with him standing so close to me and staring into my eyes like that) and why she said what she said. Her trust issues are back and I don't think she's ready to go through the pain of letting him in and then get hurt all over again. She said what I expected her to. That she doesn't think they have a future.

And Nawab also said what I expected him to. That he doesn't care as long as it made her happy. He just wouldn't leave her alone. Man do I love these two in all their broken hearted glory💔

I also need to talk about this scene because OH MY GOD!!

Beauty etched in each frame, every single micro expression, even the lines on their faces and the little movements in his throat in the little pauses that he took as he spoke.....it's just hard to even blink as you watch each and every beat in this beautiful scene unfold.

Also, the slow humming Mahi Ve returns in all its soothing awesomeness???? Wow, just wow!!

Also RAZA. Man can he act with his eyes. His expressions reminded me of the freezer episode where he looked at her with the same hopelessness and hurt - it's similar and yet so different. Not gonna lie, I have missed this Raza in the past month so much

My heart was so full watching this scene, especially when Nawab gently holds her, refusing to let go without letting her know that he's going to be there for her no matter what.

To the episode.

Finally, finally Nawab knows. HE KNOWS!

Nimrit was an imposter sure but she's actually heir of this big ass haveli? Weirdness all over.

Light comedy peppered all over courtesy Mr Buzo and of course Nawab is most welcome!

Heer finally succumbing to the kulcha's charm? My girl 😍😍😍😍😍🥹🥹🥹🥹 (if only hurt was as easy to resolve as hunger)

Nawab telling Heer ek aur baar Nimrit wala joke maara to choti pakadke kheench doongi was NOT on my bingo card!

Daler's dialogues? Cringe pro max written all over (what is this line dude - sach se zyada sach tak pahuchne wala khatarnak hota hai? Really?)

Also for my life I don't understand why so many women including this batshit insane woman are after poor Nawab. On top of that the Thanos style declaration - mera ghar, meri marzi, mera Nawab, chabuk etc. etc. etc. When is this woman going to leave?

Heer saying 'mera pati hai' made me so happy. My girl is still deep in love. Such kind of once in a lifetime feeling doesn't just disappear like this. It stays with you, whether you want it or not. It's just that her hurt is overpowering her love right now.

I'm pretty sure it's a zakhmi Nawab who's somehow managed to reach that scary Haveli after Heer so I'm even more sat for tomorrow!

Well done folks! Keep it up! (and also please release episodes on time - what is this behavior?)

Such a pretty shot I had to put it here!

https://preview.redd.it/znlkcvp6pnih1.jpg?width=1411&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24a0cece91d4866e4352099813135d461e610863

I cannot stop raving about how pretty this entire scene is.

Kurta-clad Raza. I like.

Pretty PRETTY Jasmeet. I like.

The close ups of hot kulcha in all its glory. I also like!

I also liked how the scene captured Heer's hurt, the ever present feelings of betrayal, her confusion, moments when she feels like she's getting affected against her will and also her stubbon refusal to let Nawab's words reach her heart again.

I also liked that Nawab somewhat acknowledged that whatever happened wasn't Heer's fault and fixing it isn't her responsibility. It was his (well he hasn't yet understood the latter, but I hope to God he does).
