Random wheel Lock up! What could cause this?

https://reddit.com/link/1vq0mdo/video/dgnyyj3zdrjh1/player

Wheel just randomly for 2 seconds turned about 30 degrees to the left and locked up and then was fine. Really annoying second time it has happened in a week. Anyone else experience this? I have the wheel plugged in via an extension cable directly into the PC. No hub. No issues with Power spikes or anything.

Logitech G Pro Wheel, running at 6NM.

Found this post from a year ago and same issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/1kp5tit/desperate_for_help_with_event_41_kernelpower/

Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
  • GPU: Gigabyte RTX 5090 (Driver 32.0.15.9579)
  • PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-1000 (1000W Gold, native 12VHPWR cable)
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5
  • OS: Windows 11
  • MOBO: ASUS ROG Strix B650-A Gaming WiFi AMD B650 AM5 Ryzen

There is no blue screen and no fans ramping up; it just loses power as if the plug was pulled. I don't have to force a restart because the computer is already off. I just have to press the power button to initiate the normal boot process.

I tried all of the steps that the previous user did as well just to make sure that some of these may fix it for me, none worked. :(

- Full Nvidia Driver removal and reinstall, multiple nvidia drivers. Used both uninstall and the driver removal tool.

- Tried Expo I, II and Tweaked. No difference in results. Also downclocked the RAM to 4800, no difference (did not adjust timings).

- No OC on CPU or GPU (excluding Expo settings).

- Full system format and W11 reinstall

- Checked moonlight, apollo and playing locally. Happened on all of them

- Swapped to a brand new PSU, changed GPU power cables.

- Ran Mestest86 at Expo I, II and Tweaked. No issues

- Ran Prime95 without OC for 4 hours, no issue.

- Ran Furmark for 4 hours, no issue.

- Loaded defaults in BIOS. No change.

I also ran with one RAM stick as well, still happens. Temps are staying well within threshold for CPU and GPU, so I don't think it's overheating at all. When I game with Apollo/Moonlight, I am getting 30-50% CPU and GPU usage, since I am on a steam deck and on a 1280x800 resolution.

Any help would be appreciated. Tagging /u/Adamvs_Maximvs just incase they were able to fix their machine.
