Fired by my psych NP and I’m pissed

I’m living with ADHD and BP2 so I’ve been trying to get in for my regular stimulant re-up appointment. I’ve been out of XR Adderall for over a month because my prescriber was so booked up and my executive functioning has really taken a hit. I was supposed to have an appointment on Tuesday but I forgot. I logged on 8 minutes late and I’d missed her. I get 5 minutes is most people’s grace period but I’ve never missed an appointment once in 3 years of seeing her.

I emailed right away asking to reschedule and the response was that she was planning to drop me at our appointment anyway. I was planning to use her to get through the end of the year because my insurance plan is changing for next year anyway. More than anything I’m so livid that this provider who has shown zero respect for my care would just drop me after a single missed appointment. Things she has done before:

- No showed one of my appointments because her assistant booked me on a day she was out of office
- Eaten lunch during appointments
- Never remembers my prescriptions, dosages, schedule, or pharmacy
- Once did not send my scripts after an appointment so I had to chase her office down because the pharmacy had nothing when I called for refills
- Never sends my lithium lab requests despite repeatedly asking
- After begging for lab requests sent lab orders for a company that doesn’t even operate in my state

Those are just off the top of my head. I’m so angry that a provider who seems to be so careless about their job would act like I’m the hassle for missing a single appointment by a few minutes. Her assistant says she’ll send one more round of 3 month scripts but with her track record I’m not sure she even will. I’m hoping my primary care can take over in the meantime but I don’t trust her existing track record on any of this.

DAE Feel like the Kylie Jenner smart glasses are a ploy to escape their status as the perv glasses?

Since the original glasses came out the most common response I’ve seen is calling out the wildly inappropriate behavior of folks wearing them and that the tech is well past a bridge too far with privacy invasion. I’d agree with all that for sure.

Now that the Kylie Jenner ones dropped the main response I’m hearing is basically “why tf would she be a good pick for marketing a tech product?” It hit me that they needed a popular woman to convince women to buy into this tech ourselves in hopes they’ll escape the perv glasses reputation. Whether it was someone from the Kardashian clan, a pop star, actress, etc. the goal would have been the same. If enough women can be convinced this benefits us too we’ll all give in.

Just tired of these tech bros and curious if anybody out there has had the same thought since this launch.
