Do you think adding 1 more male would make this tank crowded?

It seems to be more than enough space for the 3 of them. Plenty of space to get away from eachother, although they are usually all together. They are reaching 2 years old this month, so maybe a little more room to grow. The tank is 32” wide, 24” deep, and 28-30” tall + a deep soil base. So they can all stretch out fully in every direction. Two basking spots, two water bowls, and too many hides to count. I would feel comfortable adding 1 more, but want to see what you guys think. Last pic is who i would be adding to the mix. He looks too beautiful to pass up, although my wallet could use a break😂

Also, i would be upgrading tanks pretty significantly in the next couple of years, so their forever home would be more like a 120 gal.

Who said garters arent handleable?

Keeping all 3 comfortably in one hand is my new favorite neuroplasticity exercise lol. They were pretty darty when i got them, but working with them every day has made them super comfortable being touched/ grabbed. These guys are the best little display snakes, and are a lot of fun to interact with. If it wasnt a challenge to feed them all at once, i would have far too many of them😂

How big are your male garters?

Ive got 3 radix, varying a bit in size, that are about to be 2 years old. One is around 35 grams, one is 30, and the other is probably 25 or so. Each about 18” long, give or take a couple inches. How are yours, and how long have you had them/how old are they?

Anyone know if this is repairable?

Customer had adhesive floor panels pulled up, and the sheen from the tile is gone. Anyone knows what causes this, and or if its fixable?

Would you have seen him in time? (San Rafael, Ca)

I was going to that hose to fill up my bucket for some grouting. Luckily i did not have my headphones on cuz they just died, so i wasnt distracted. I was looking at the ground the whole walk, but i still didnt notice him until the last second. My next step was going to be right next to him/on top of him. My heart has never beat so fast in my life😂

Friendly reminder to check for crevices!

For weeks, i have been battling my garter snakes as they hide in little crevices, created by gaps in my spray foam backround. I have been removing rocks, picking away spray foam, and stuffing all the holes with sphagnum moss as you can see. But everytime i think i sealed it up, i discover an even tinier, more ridiculous entrance😭. They used to all hide in there, but now its just kimchi that hides in there for days at a time. Im debating changing his name to charlie, the way he acts with his crevice (IYKYK). I think today finally marks the end of the crevice, as i just closed up this hole hes coming out of. But, wish me luck anyway😭😂.

None of this would have been discovered or fixed without the endoscope im using to capture this video. I would highly suggest one if you have a very busy tank with lots of places to hide. It was only $20 or so on amazon.

I was having trouble with humidity on the higher level of the enclosure, with it being in the 45-50% range. I added a bunch of wet spanish moss under the heat sources, and bumped it up 20% immediately. Now it stays around 63-68% (when the doors not open) and 85-90% at soil level. It also serves as easy cover for her, in her favorite spot. Thought id share in case it helps anyone else.
