I am about 3 years into my nursing career after changing jobs at 40. I’ve never seen another profession where people don’t even take so much as a bathroom break. “I haven’t peed all day” is something I’ve heard a coworker say multiple times. Why do y’all do yourselves like that? The world won’t fall apart if you leave the floor for 2 minutes.

And lunch breaks, sheesh. It’s almost like a badge of honor to skip your *unpaid* lunch break. I couldn’t do it. I don’t ever skip lunch. The doors were open before I ever started working there and life will go on after I leave. I’m taking my 30 minutes so I can reset and be sharper and more patient for the rest of my shift. But you do you.

Hello! I am 6'6", 230 lbs. I need a comfortable chair. Mesh back would be preferred because my office is stingy with the air conditioning and it can get quite hot. Previous lower back issues so lumbar support is important. Every chair I've tried seems to be too short. I worry the Steelcase Leap v2 will run too hot. What advice can y'all give me?

Hey everyone! In January I requested to move to day shift. Staffing was pretty rough at the time but now it is much better. I asked my DON for an update April 1 and she said “maybe a month.” Starting April 13 I’ve been trying to get a commitment on a firm date but she keeps deflecting or outright ignoring my attempts to communicate with her. I was promised a definitive update last Friday but have received no communication whatsoever aside from her accusing me of being impatient. I’m really at my wits end with all the gaslighting and lack of communication. What would you do in my situation?
