Why am I struggling to get to the interview stage?

Hello I've been applying to various apprenticeships around my area however I don't even manage to get to the interview stage I've applied to about 8 in the last month and not heard a single reply back.I made sure that when I apply I highlight my qualifications,my skills and knowledge but I don't hear anything.

do they just get that many people applying that they just not look at all the applications or is it where im applying cause im using the gov apprenticeship website. I make sure that I answer there questions when applying an carefully highliting my skills and experiences.

Im applying for recruitment apprenticeships,hr apprenticeships, buisness administrator apprenticeships.

Better to rent or buy a flat

Ive recently come across a flat which i liked it's 850 sq ft and has a office 1 bedroom. kitchen and living room combined into a open space and a massive bathroom i have the funds to outright buy the flat and it's already come furnished however I've been advised by my parents to not spend my money and rent a flat since it will be cheaper however every flat that I've seen online doesn't meet my criteria like communal kitchen I don't want a flat with something like that and some is only just a bedroom and a bathroom.

Sorry for the long rant is it better to just rent and keep saving my money or to just buy the flat. I live in england
