How do I get the pins out of this heavy duty connector?

Hi all, so we moved into a 1950’s house last year and one of the jobs we had on the list was to re lay the ground floor as it has sunk in. We just started today and found a couple of questionable things.
Firstly, we noticed on one side of the room it looks like the old owners have laid concrete over old tiles, I have attached pictures, just wondering if people think these are old asbestos tiles.
Secondly on the other side of the room we started taking up the top layer and underneath there seems to be a felt like fibrous material in-between the top layer and the ground underneath. Does anyone know what this could be?
