season sardines (my current favorite, not sold at the store i work at) are out of stock near me. king oscar finally came back in stock last week at work. today i made the decision to finally try it for the first time!! they are so soft. so fucking soft. they are slightly more strongly fish tasting than season, but it doesnt matter bc its so delicious. nice braid pattern when you open the can, nice shiny small fish, two layers. with my employee discount its cheaper than season!

my meal is warm brown rice and lentils, homemade cole slaw with balsamic vinegar, cucumber, peas, corn, edamame. i heated the can of sardines in a skillet of water, and put lemon juice before eating. put some sriracha in the bowl too

as a kid i had a couple kennel pals with the matching baby that had a magnet so that it could be held in the bigger dog’s mouth. i had the boxer, and another one that i cant find online. its a white dog with brown patches, brown pointed ears. not the beagle or jack russel. the fur was short and dense like the brown sugar puppy, which i also had as a kid. it would be from around 2005-2009 im guessing. if anyone has info please let me know!

$3.49 from giant eagle

i haven’t had much canned seafood so im still experimenting. not too big on sardines at first but started to enjoy mussels/oysters/scallops more. however they are a little more expensive and i have been genuinely enjoying them. decided to try sardines again and this can made me actually like the flavor!! i was impressed.

this can had 3 decently sized sardines. on their own they are sorta dry, fairly soft but mostly retained shape. the dryness isnt an issue when i eat it with my meal, which is:

a bed of warm rice, a couple spoons of red pepper hummus, chopped roasted bell peppers, edamame, finely chopped cabbage and carrot with balsamic vinegar and seasoning. lemon juice on the fish. i also warmed the tin in a skillet of water. super delicious and i wish i could eat it for my work lunch!
