Tamiful managed to make characters that are both relatable but also realistic as hell, they're not me but also just experiences I've had. ALSO THESE BOOKS CAN BE FUNNY AS HELL NGL 😭🙏

Saeko and Miwa's stories are both perfectly balanced out, it doesn't feel like one is taking over the story and I'm equally as invested in each one. I turn the page and I'm like, "fuck yeah SAEKO TIME LETS GOOO" or "MIWA TIME HELL YEAHHHHHGG"

in conclusion im sure this will go perfectly fine next volume! :DDDD

Paige did. After the death of Rachel (her long term girlfriend), she fought in underground fight clubs to get money for rent. She isolated herself and found the symbiote while on a midnight walk. Eventually she did tear herself away from it, but that's a story for another day.

Designed Rachel, Paige's astronomy and technology obssessed girlfriend.

Drew a snippet of Rachel's death. I got some lore for that scene too:

Universe 619 Tony Stark is an Iron Man variant but corrupt and he's lowkey a rich douchebag who wants Paige dead because Scarlet Spider has lowkey been ruining his business and since Paige had a work study at Stark Industries... well he put two and two together. Anywho, he put a hit out on Paige as well as Rachel, since Rachel had been making technological advancements that were a threat to Stark Industries.

Long story short, after trying to protect Rachel for days on end, Paige and Tony fight at an abandoned construction site. Rachel dies from a stray repulsor blast. Paige only sees this after the fight is over, staying with Rachel in her final moments.

After this, she isolates herself from Jayden and Harper and focuses solely on her duties as Scarlet Spider. During this time... about 9 months from self isolating, she gets the symbiote suit. (Symbiote Suit Design WIP)

This was a pretty Saeko heavy volume and my ass is HERE for it. She might be my favorite ngl. Her interaction with her mom was so damn tense and that's what I love about Tamiful's writing. She can write such realistic and unnervingly tense exchanges that almost never feel forced or exposition heavy. I can't tell everything they're thinking and they don't just say it, rather by expression.

Yuria comforting Saeko and Saeko finally letting her walls down was played for slight comedic effect and it transitions into a genuine smile from Saeko and it doesn't feel whiplashy. It feels NORMAL OUGH... HOW DOES TAMIFULL DO IT

WE LEARN WHAT HAPPENED IN MIDDLE SCHOOL WITH SAEKO?!!? FINALLY!!! AND... OW. She had to hide around all the time and I totally see how that turned her into the person she is now. Of course she's not gonna be open with how she feels! She couldn't be open for all of her childhood 😭

Their bonding moment with the snowballs AUGGHHGSGHAHAUWJAJ OW BUT ALSO OH MY GOD THEY DO CARE ABOUT EACHOTHER BUT ITS COMPLICATED FUUCKKKKK

These new relationships are so fire and I literally can't tell what's gonna happen next. I read the description for volume 10 and I am so SCARED DUDE. But only one way to find out how this goes... gulp

Miwa and Sakeo are so damn relatable and REAL. I really thought I'd hate the new relationships the two would get in because it wasn't Saeko x Miwa but... honestly these seem so much more healthy. I find myself rooting for them MORE now.

They look so... happy. Again, tamiful is a master at expressions HOW DO THEY DO IT. From comedic confused panels to genuinely masterful shots of emotion. The one close up of Miwa tearing up after the confession is genuinely top 5 manga panels of all time I AM NOT JOKING. WHAT THE FUCK. THIS IS NOT ONLY ONE OF THE BEST ROMANCE MANGA, BUT JUST OF ONE OF THE BEST EVER. IDGAF IF THIS IS GLAZE I WILL GLAZE TS TILL THE END OF TIMEEEE

Seeing Miwa do so much better after her rejection was great to see. Tamaki and Miwa seem to have such a genuine connection and mutual romantic feelings I really hope this goes well. Saeko and Yuria is also a fun time! I'm interested to see Saeko's middle school thingy cuz that'll probably reveal A LOT.

Speaking from personal experience, I had to give up on a love that wasn't reciprocated nearly as much. I had to watch as they grew closer to others and I could do nothing but be happy for them. It sucked. It hurt. I felt like an outsider. Like... an accessory. But in time I grew to find my own people and while I still haven't found another romantic relationship, I'm okay with that. But that initial pain is so human and Tamiful captured that masterfully with these volumes. This manga made me feel seen in a way I haven't felt in forever.

I'm so excited to see how everything will play out in the coming volumes. I'm more than halfway through the manga's run. The end is in sight and I can't wait to see what the big T cooks up.

Miwa and Saeko aren't good for each other right now and that hurts to see. Whatever they had going on didn't really benefit either of them. That heartbreak of having to move on from someone you loved is so real for me and thats whats so relatable about this series.

Imbalanced feelings is something that ended MY personal first relationship, so it was insane seeing that here. It was translated so well and I felt so seen it was unreal. Miwa and Saeko are both flawed but that's what makes them so special. They aren't perfect and they make realistic mistakes. Miwa can't just get over her crush on Shiho because that type of thing doesn't go away, no matter how much you'd want it to.

She's interesting so far, I think she's the new love interest for Miwa??? And yk what I'm not upset about it. They weren't good for each other and I lowkey do NOT know how this series will end 😭

ALSO YURIA MY BELOVED, Saeko and Yuria are dating now. Saeko, this is good news. We can finally have reciprocated feelings in your relationship.

All in all, its squeak. This has the potential to rival my favorite yuri manga (the summer you were there), its genuinely so well written I can't wait to see what happens next.

Her name is Paige Pearson. She was bitten by a radioactive spider and for the past 6 months, she's been the one and only Scarlet Spider.

Other than that, you probably now the rest by now.

Stops a train from crashing, saves the city, falls off a building, breaks her arm, loses... someone she loved.

Eats a half expired slice of pizza, falls off a building again, trended on twitter one time, gets hunted by a multi-billion dollar corporation which her own father works for... uh... played golf with an old man.

She's a relatively shy person at NSU, never really speaking out or standing up for herself. But as the Scarlet Spider; she's free. She jokes and quips, living while no one knows her name.

Without the mask, she fades into the background and she likes it that way. She preferred to keep it that way. Key word... preferred.

Her friends are her biggest support source, which is ironic since she never wanted that in the first place. Yet only one person knows her secret. And that's MJ. Their effortlessly cool demeanor made Paige fall for them at first sight, but that's a story for another day.

She's not the most experienced as a vigilante/hero. She gets hurt constantly. But no matter how badly she's bruised, how bloody her nose gets, how cracked her ribs are, how broken her limbs get; she'll always get back up.

Because the only thing standing between New York and total chaos is a socially inept broke college student.

Cuz there's only one Scarlet Spider.

Miwa's whole rejection and deep depression arc hurts to watch because she's usually able to pick herself back up, but this is the FURTHEST we've seen her fall. She's not doing good and she's actually being a bit of a jerk to Saeko (which... yk i dont blame her she's struggling and she doesn't want to be near her.)

THIS. THIS IS HOW YOU WRITE A COMPLEX CHARACTER WHO'S KIND OF BEING AN ASSHOLE FOR UNDERSTANDABLE (unlike jax tadc what who said that)

Also, Saeko saying sorry for your loss after realizing Miwa got rejected, AND FUCKING SMILING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! SAEKO?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH YOUR GAME?!?!

thats such an interesting decision but not an unrealistic one and i love it. OH MY GOD. THIS SERIES IS SO GOOD.

I say this as the biggest Jax hater to grace the planet. I'm glad we got clarification for his actions. He's the worst, yes. But I see what Goose was going for and a lot of segments were super cool to see. I loved the Ragatha and Pomni scenes. Gangle and Zooble were great. And JAX STAYED DEAD?!?! I'm so happy.

Gangle not being able to cry for her actual abuser was such a cool choice that I adore. I love you Gangle. While some may think Caine's redemption was rushed... I kinda fuck with it? There's so many things I could go over, but I don't wanna type out the entire plot tbh

Now that I got his whole backstory, I still despise Jax with a passion, but I at least understand why he was the way he was. STILL DON'T MAKE HIM LESS OF A BUM RIP BOZO 😝✌️

I love Saeko and Miwa, they're so damn complex and the break up was really neither of their fault... rather, it was both of theirs. Miwa still had feelings for another woman and Saeko just wanted to feel less alone. I empathize with Saeko so much with her just wanting to be loved the same amount... but also there are points where I'm like... SAEKO LOCK IN PLEASE?!?!? AND THEN MIWA FUMBLES AND THEN I YELL MIWA LOCK IN

THE BIT WHEN MIWA SAYS I LOVE YOU AND SAEKOS LIKE... "yeah you don't mean it. it's good." And Miwa's like, "okay you say it then bitch"

AND THEN I GET MY FAVORITE PANEL OF THIS ENTIRE SERIES WHERE SAEKO SAYS I LOVE YOU WITH SUCH GENUINE SINCERITY THAT IVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE MY FUCKING HEART

The diolouge that tamifull writes is so god damn good. Miwa calling Saeko a liar made me throw my book against the wall and that was a tame example. Saeko nonchalantly saying, "Yo will you break up with me?" THEN JUST DIPPING?!?!? OW?!?

I feel so bad for Miwa but I totally get where Saeko's coming from. AND NOW SHE MIGHT BE DATING THAT ONE GIRL WHAAAAAT?!?!?!?!?

this series hurts me to my very core and is nothing but pain and suffering
