Caught in Arrowhead’s game, no escape from pre-nerfed weaponry
Open the patch notes, look at the stats and see
I’m just a poor Helldiver, my favorite weapon needs more sympathy
Because my gun’s stats are easy come, easy go
Little high, little low
Anyway the stats go, the nerfs really matter to me

Arrowhead just killed a gun
Put a gun against a Terminid’s head, light pen didn’t kill it dead
Arrowhead, I thought this game was supposed to be fun
But now you’ve gone and thrown it all away
Arrowhead, I want to see you cry
Because if my gun’s stats aren’t back this time tomorrow
I’ll carry on, carry on as if this game doesn’t matter

Too late, this game isn’t fun
Sends bad vibes down my spine, this game’s player base is going down all the time

Gotta leave you glazers behind and make you face the truth

I sometimes wished I never bought this game at all

Helldivers 2 is a third-person shooter meaning your ability to move your crosshairs over a target is central to player skill. When using a light pen weapon, you no longer have any skill expression when you fight a charger or hulk you get severely limited in where you can hit them. Third-person shooters are all about aiming and shooting so with light pen that no longer applies. It no longer is a game about aiming and shooting but one where you find weak points in the enemy’s model.

No one should be forced to play the game in order to access its content and Narrowhead should be ashamed of themselves for pushing this FOMO.

We all know they will sabotage the update to further shoe horn in their “grunt fantasy” so speculate about it here.
