Am I crazy? Different materials, very similar shape found in same area of my yard. Durham county.

Found the first, very obviously worked, piece on the left in an area of the yard we have been excavating for a fire pit. While working in the same area I found the piece on the right (orthoquartzite? felsic siltstone? Would love help here). It's so oddly similar to the first piece, even down to the ridge along the side, but the material makes it really hard to see the evidence of being worked.

I've found a lot of possible debitage and broken tools made of similar material to the one on the right. Are there ways to better determine if those items have been worked?

Also what even is the tool on the left? Found along a broken blade of the same material (rhyolite with a heavy patina?) and a lot of flakes

My dog becomes the hulk at the vet despite an insane cocktail of meds. Any success stories/protocols?

Dog: Husky mix - 5 year old, Female, 40lb

Issue: Terrible patient at the vet. Not a big fan of strangers in general touching her so this makes vet visits especially awful. No bite history but she SCREAMS and flails, not letting anyone touch her, even to get a heartbeat.

Medications: Gabapentin, trazadone, Ace (in varying combinations). She fights through it all.

We have a wonderful fear-free vet. We've done happy visits since she was a baby. I practice handling using a capped syringe, stethoscope, mat....you name it. It just doesn't translate to actual vet visits

Recently we had a stressful ER visit with her after chocolate raisin ingestion that left her (and me, honestly) pretty traumatized. They could not give her enough medication to sedate her to get blood work. She was laying on the ground, eyes closed, in a dark room, barely even responsive but the second they touched her? Lost. her. mind. It made the problem so much worse.

I'm willing to put in the work to help her get through this but I just want to hear if anyone has had success. I got the Deb Jones co-operative care book after successfully using her nail trim guide (a lifesaver, buy it!). I just want to know if anyone has any tips/tricks/advice/wisdom to help me believe this is possibke

Are all sticker companies equal for color printing capabilities (standard CMYK)? Or are there variations in this based on machine/technology?

I print a LOT of colorful stickers. Been using the same people to print my stickers forever (StickerApp) and have always been happy. First picture is an example of a design created on Procreate and sent in as PNG in RGB. Everything looks great and printed how I designed it, despite the RGB->CMYK conversion.

Recently I sent in a super important commissioned design and looked ✨terrible✨ and muddy when I got it back (second picture). I know the CMYK color profile issue is to blame but I'm confused as to why this hasn't been an issue for me before?

Are there companies who have better color printing capabilities or is it a matter of adjusting how I design things?

Thanks!!

Would love help. This is driving me crazy!

ETA: Spoke to a wildlife rehabber who advised that as long as they are healthy, the mange should clear up on its own. So these guys will be just fine! 🙌 Lots of misinformation out there so thought I'd share that good news. Also these babies are old enough to be leaving this den soon. I'll leave up this post for the cute baby fox content though ❤️

Recently discovered that there is a fox den in my neighbors yard! There seems to be at least 3 kits but all look like they might have mange. They all were scratching constantly and look scraggly. I haven't seen the mother yet.

Since I know where they live - is there a wildlife rehab that I can contact that will help me treat them without capturing them? Mange is fatal if left untreated but is easy to treat. Any help is appreciated so I can help them asap. Thank you ❤️
