'08 impala to a... ?

hi yall, new to the sub.

i have a 2008 chevy impala with approx. 77500 miles. i hit a deer last week and if i had collision insurance, my car would be deemed totaled. through a lot of discussion with my friends and family, i am leaning toward getting a new (to me) car rather than repairing my impala and waiting for more issues to come up. (for context: this is my first car, got it in 2021 when i go tmy license, i am now a college graduate living at home and would like something i can depend on as i approach other life milestones)

in my family we have a rule: all cars must be American made (FORD, gm, jeep, dodge, ram, etc.) i love my sedan but i think if im going to spend the money, i should get an SUV

i would love all suggestions, pros/cons to cars, things to know about certain models, whatever the advice may be. tyia

advice for my '08 impala

hi, new to the sub.

i have a 2008 chevy impala with approz. 77500 miles on it. last week i hit a deer and the repairs would basically be more than the car is worth (headlight, hood, paint, energy absorber, and a couple other things). since my car is so old, we don't have collision insurance so i won't be getting anything there. its basically "totaled"

im considering just getting a new car because i dont have really any other bills at this time (living at home post grad) and lets be real, how many more things am i going to have to fix. shes' a wonderful car, just always coming up with problems.

my question to reddit is how much could i get for it? should i sell online (FB?), to a dealer, chop shop? i know she's worth dirt especially with the front end damage, but even just a little cash would help with a new car payment. any ideas? tyia
