ecctis “unable to process application”

hello, i’m getting quite concerned here. i submitted my english degree transcripts to ecctis with a letter specifying that the core lessons were taught in english, but since a lot of them were taught in another language, my case cannot be processed:

“In order to provide your service, your qualification needs to have been taught in English. Upon review of your transcripts, we can see you completed a significant number of modules in another language, which means we have insufficient evidence to confirm the minimum English requirements for your award.”

i’m really frustrated as again, it was an english studies degree. the degree is from an EU country but i also have canadian citizenship. i’ve started the HPI application and it seems i absolutely need a case number from ecctis though the message from ecctis specified i could take a SELTS test.

has anyone been in this situation? what could be done? i’m thinking of calling them tomorrow.

celebrating and lamenting weight gain

i’ve been in recovery since mid 2024. i was still engaging in restrictive behavior and compulsive movement for a while, but earlier this year, i underwent a big move and life change. my body was virtually the same for a while, but i’ve now realized i’ve gained weight. quite a significant amount actually.
i look back on pictures from a year ago and see how weak i looked, i also remember experiencing acute dysmorphia while being small. i don’t really miss these days and that body, as i know i couldn’t even enjoy it when i had it.

however i hate my current body so much. i wear the biggest clothes i can find so i don’t crash out daily. i feel as if i’ve lost part of myself. i feel so pathetic. i know too much about how bodies work, and how restriction only leads to more harm to go back to prior ED behaviors. also, it’s great to be able to hold a conversation or have multiple snacks a day. but eventually, every single day, i end up hating my body so much i just want to vanish. and it still angers me when i get hungry, YEARS into recovery. i don’t know if ill ever be normal again. i’m so tired and i don’t even know who to talk to about it because i look “healthier”. i’m so tired

Medium of Instruction letter (non English-speaking country)

hello, i think i messed up majorly by assuming the ECCTIS process would be straightforward and didn’t expect a letter from my university to be required.

How have people gotten on with getting an MoL delivered from non-English speaking countries, especially France? Was it from the admin department or something else?

I’m afraid I won’t be able to get one due to the summer holidays and I’m worried it’s over for me! My degree was taught mainly English by the way.

moving back to the UK with an HPI visa and no further plan?

I lived in London for over 3 years but couldn't find work after my visa expired, so I moved out earlier this year. I've found out I'm eligible for another visa (for 2 years), and since my entire social network is there, I really really want to go back. Beyond my friends, I feel at home in the city. I don't mind a house share and suffering from the blow of TFL monthly.

Now, I have an MA in English Studies + a recent publication in a somewhat revered journal. Otherwise, it's just been service jobs. I hear they're making it increasingly impossible to immigrate to the UK. I was hoping I could build something in the writing world in order to eventually apply for a Global Talent Visa, since I doubt I could find something else?

The more I read about people's experiences, and obviously having had to move out of the country myself, the more I question whether to try again. I would like to hear some honest opinions, or even success stories from people who were able to get sponsored with similar degrees.

bad bumps 1.5 month in

i got my daith pierced on april 10th of this year with a circular barbell and this is probably the worst i’ve ever had a piercing develop. i’ve been cleaning it with an antiseptic the piercer recommended/that i’ve used before. after noticing the bumps i started using tea tree oil because it had helped in the past but doesn’t seem like it’s doing much for this one. i’ll admit i’ve been fiddling with it a bit as well. pretty much painless unless im cleaning it. any help would be greatly appreciated.
