Date advise for couple

I am trying to put up a list of must visit couple restaurants and locations in Leeds but all I find when I google is fish and chips shops and take away.

Nothing wrong with them but I was wondering what sort of fun date places there are in Leeds. I loved the Lego art gallery and the art gallery for example.

Please recommend a place to eat and a fun location for dates.

Albion place made me cry and eat myself depressed.

Had a property for sale for 110 and bank downvalued to 95. We did our survey and searches and property has risk of radon gas.

Survey shows following issues:
• Chimney stacks need repointing and flaunching. Damp staining in loft area from defective lead flashings.
• Roof coverings need checking for water ingress due to damp staining.
• Main walls need repointing on front elevation and repairs to rear including cracking around kitchen window and rear door render.
• Roof structure has moisture penetration and water staining. Party wall sealing needed.
• Damp and moisture issues in walls and partitions. Specialist investigation required.
• Floorboards in lounge need lifting to investigate damp. Kitchen floor solid concrete may have carbonation issues.

AMBER ISSUES

• Gutters and rainwater pipes have moss and debris buildup. Seals and alignments need checking.
• Windows need external mastic beads renewed. Rear bedroom has misting. Front bedroom needs escape casement windows for fire safety.
• Front and rear doors need servicing, adjusting and lubricating.
• Rear yard needs clearing and cleaning. Boundary walls need redecorating. Neighbour’s render repair needed to prevent further deterioration.
• Chimney breasts need vents installed to front and rear.
• Bath needs sealant work, panel repair and mechanical extract ventilation installed.
• Water supply may have lead pipework that needs replacing with plastic MDPE.
• Drainage inspection chamber cover is cracked. CCTV drain survey needed.

What upsets me is it was marketed as move-in ready when it has so many issues.

People wouldn’t come to give me quotes cause I did not own the property. Asked the seller to help me get quotes and she gets upset not wanting to help get quotes and pulls out.

Wasted survey and search money!

I feel depressed and tired and honestly regret making an offer with WG after the experience. The EA were very aggressive when talking to me.

Feel like moving away from pontefract to somewhere else now 😭

Moving to pontefract? Scared and unsure.

Hello All friendly people,

I and my white husband are moving to pontefract. I am black and I am aware reformuk rules Wakefield at the minute.

We currently live in Leeds and I am terrified someone will attack me or my husband ( for being with me).

This may sound silly but is it safe for me as a black woman and my hubby who is a white British national in pontefract.

We are buying a house and I absolutely fell in love with it. There were some unwelcoming shops with the flags in the window. Who refused to talk to me irl.

Idk and I’m worried.

Please no politics, I just want to know if it’s generally safe. I don’t want to be a statistic.

Contract terms of a job I was offered is awful. Do I accept?

I was offered a role for £40k+ range and I read the contract I felt weird about it.

Some summaries are:

The employer can cut my hours or put me on temporary unpaid leave if they need to avoid redundancies or if there’s just not enough work about. I won’t lose any statutory benefits I’m entitled to.

Once I’ve passed my probation, I need to give the company three months’ notice if I want to leave. After probation ends, the company has to give me notice too. For the first five years, that’s four weeks.

If I’m unwell, I need to tell the company as fast as I can and explain why. I ring a Director before I’m due in (ideally within an hour of my start time) rather than texting or emailing. I can’t get someone else to call in for me either. I tell them what’s up with me, how long I reckon I’ll be off, and if there’s any urgent work that needs sorting. I let my Line Manager know when I’m ready to come back.

My standard week is 40 hours. The company can ask me to do extra work outside my normal hours if the business needs it and its “reasonable” amount of hours unpaid. This isn’t unlimited but it has to happen sometimes to keep things running.

Contract also comes with a mandatory 48 hour working time agreement . Cannot submit without signing. Also has a 3 month period if signed before you are opted out.

A section where they can delegate work away from me.

A section where they can change my job details with a month notice.

A section where I can’t do any other job in junction with this one.

My Question:

Has anyone seen a contract like this and if so have they accepted it? What was the outcome?

Which job do I pick? Remote or onsite?

Got an amazing job I love with a public body. I work remote and adore it. It pays 32000, recently interviewed to keep interview skills sharp and was offered 45000.

Really not sure what to do here. The new job is mostly in office and requires some driving from place to place with paid mileage.

They offered 45k

Pension is 3%

Current job is 23% pension

After adding both pensions to salary as full package it is

39800( rounding up)

46350

Do I stay or move?

Mortgage uk

I have been given a mortgage offer. I got head-hunted for a job in the same field but a promotion so from Project Co-ordinator to Project Manager.

From 31,157 to 48,000.

Would the bank be upset? If I disclose it will I lose the mortgage offer.

Hello guys,

I am a first time buyer in the uk and the seller has refused to turn on the water for me to inspect. They have also said they will fix the roof and repoint the chimney but have not done so.

The estate agent stopped picking calls or responding to emails. I’m upset I already did the survey as I did not know a seller would drag their feet this way.

I told my conveyancer I won’t pay for search until they give her the date the guy coming to do the roof is coming and date to see the water on in the building.

We started this process end of February and the seller has been dragging their feet first took 3 weeks to pay their solicitors to send us a contract then now has not done anything at all.

I read nightmare stories about mortgage expiring and I am wondering if I should go else where as I got an amazing rate and done want it to change.

What should I do?
