Thanks to Twinblade (.twinblade) on Discord, he ran the binary directly and found that the game needs Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Runtime installed in the prefix. So use protontricks to install vcrun2022 in the Conan Exiles Enhanced prefix, and Bob's your uncle.
