More fun moped engine questions and concerns

Finally getting around to tearing this ZA50 engine apart. Would love somebody to help me with a couple of questions..

  1. When pulling this apart it looks like there is some form of jb weld. Any ideas as to why this is there? Obviously a shot in the dark but figured it would be worth asking
  2. While disassembling the head the mounts came off. When I go to reattach them should I loctite them?
  3. What’s up with the look of the piston? Thoughts?

Overall I’m teaching myself as I go.

Does anybody know what carb this is?

I was given this alongside a bike I purchased. I have no clue what model it is, or if it would work with my za50 engine. Is it even worth considering using?

I have a couple of questions regarding moped za50 maintenance as well as overarching motor questions.. newbie here

Been learning the hard way and digging into this motor and have questions…

I want to test for spark using the drill method on the flywheel. I see the arrow is pointing to the left, however when I try to run it to the left the flywheel nut backs out. I stopped and re tightened this nut down but before I go forward I would love somebody to talk me through this specific part. Do I go right? Some guides online said follow the arrow so now I’m a little confused

Also.. I took a picture of a part on the engine but have no clue what this part does. This screw, what does it all do?

Thank you all in advance for your help.

Long shot... Anybody around Baltimore that works on Moped's? Super new to engines, and would love to have somebody to speak to who could help out.

Moped Repair in Baltimore

Random question I know - But does anybody know of anyone in Baltimore who works on older mopeds? I was gifted one and would love to get it up and running, but I have no clue around engines.
