Recalling why I drank in the first place

Hey again,

I posted recently about having to cut down my drinking bc i apparently have fatty liver. I'm still doing that but fuck as expected I feel awful.

Same thing happened when I did inpatient. It became more and more apparent why I started drinking. I hate nearly every second of my life. And the worst part is things are actually getting better on paper. I did the things. I have a decent paying job, I have friends, I'm rebuilding my relationship with family, I have pets and spend time with friends. People care about me, I care about others. There's literally nothing really that wrong. I just think I wasn't built to be a happy person. My mother is never happy, my father died of lung cancer but he was never happy either. I just dont have whatever it is that let's me be okay.

Drinking helps me forget all that. Like its not like drinking made me happy, but at least I could forget. I'm in a PHP and everyone seems really good at learning and growing and I am barely able to show up on time. I can't shower without a huge struggle. I'm taking my meds and still everything is so hard.

It feels like I have to pick: dont drink, be unhappy, keep my life together or do drink, ruin my life, but at least it hurts less. And I am still going to quit, I'm doing pretty good at the taper I'm on, and I am miserable.

My dr says I have early fatty liver.

Just the title. I apparently have early fatty liver. I went to rehab then relapsed and have still been drinking a half pint in the morning and another half pint to a full pint every night. Its been about 3 weeks at this.

Im gonna try and just cut out my morning half pint. Ill feel like shit but I think its the best place to start. Taper my night pint a little slower.

Wish me luck

Coworker is being weird if we hug and now I dont want to hug him

Hi all,

I just need some advice on how to stop interacting with him but not make it even more uncomfortable for me. To be fully fair I have not confronted him directly yet but I am working on being more straightforward and need some help.

I 29F have a coworker 55M who was fine for a few months. I am not a super physically affectionate person, but I will hug my coworkers if they initiate. This is normal at my job, a lot of people hug one another during the start of shift or as a goodbye. We are a very friendly organization with a lot of people being close friends outside of work. I also hug several other people (both men and women) and have no issue. I am also a known lesbian at work.

The issue started maybe last month when I mentioned he smelled nice after we hugged. He was noticeably happy to hear this and I thought he was just starved for compliments and moved on. However since then he has started angling the hug so at least one of his hands is on my lower back, before his arms stayed around my shoulders as hes much taller than me. I think hes started smelling me as he takes this huge breath in and I can hear/feel it. And he makes almost a moaning sound? Its weird for me and it feels borderline sexual on his side. I've started going out of my way to avoid him and these interactions.

I dont see him much as I work AM and he works swing, so theres really only about 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a week that I see him. Since its such a small part of my days I dont feel like I should go to HR. Plus nothing has technically happened. I've tried doing side hugs but he will just wrap around me anyway. And he does see me fully hugging other people (again both men and women) so I think he thinks its fine. But the sound and the lower back thing is making me uncomfortable. I want it to stop and I dont want to hug him in the future.

How can I stop interacting with him/let him know we cannot hug anymore? Also how can I minimize any impact this would have on my relationships with other coworkers who like and am happy to hug?
