college refund issue please help

hello, last year I got admission in a college but due to some issues with my marks in a required subject was less they couldn't do my registration, so they told me to come after giving retest, now i gave the exam but they're saying that i have to do my admission again which means paying all the money that i paid a year ago again. before moving forward with the retest discussion i talked to my counselor about this issue but they told me that i wouldn't have to pay anything again. but now they're saying that i have to do my admission again and pay they money again. mind you i had paid everything required till the 1st semester, including admission and semester fees. i ofc know that they're wrong to tell me this but i wanted to ask what my options in this scenario are. its not like i want to not do admission in this college just want the money to be adjusted, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lying to my parents about going to college since the last 6 months

I graduated high school last year, well sort of, i failed in 2 subjects but i got to sit for a re-exam for one of them (that's just the system) but i eventually passed since its only required for you to pass 5 subjects, the other one is mainly optional.

Cut to, when i actually started to apply to colleges i realised that for the degree i wanted to study i needed to atleast pass the other subject i had failed in ( not the one i gave the re-exam for).

So i eventually planned to take a gap year, to clear off that subject but my parents weren't really up for that idea, they wanted me to start college as soon as possible.

SO, I never told them about me not passing the other two subjects, i just told them that i had passed my overall exams and needed to take a gap year just to get a shot at better colleges through entrance exams.

I really did try to convince them about taking a gap year but that usually ended in huge fights or then ignoring me. I know i should've told them the truth or atleast talked to them about changing majors but it never happened.

you see my family comes from a lower middle class background, we're considered a minority in our country and the fact that i even am writing this here is a privilege. so me and my sister are sort of the the only "literate" people in my family (not talking about relatives here) and we're our only hope at a better future for us.

i wanted to study this specific degree because it allows stability and a future.

so i applied to this college for the sake of it and it being my only chance at stopping all the fights. to my surprise they accepted me. I WAS SO SHOCKED, so i went to the college and submitted my marksheet and tc, and the required money for admission and the semester fees because i thought that this college didn't have that sort of passing requirement for the degree.

1 month in, when they actually start doing the registrations my counselor calls me and tells me that my admission is going to be cancelled. Somehow i knew this was too good to be true.

i was called and they wanted me to meet every other teacher, finally when i talked to the hod he told me that there were 3 options i could consider.

 1. Change degrees ( which i didn't want to)

 2. revoke my admission and get only the semester fees back.

 3. wait 1 year, pass the subject and then resume again from the 1st year. (for which i didn't have to give any extra money)

I really debated changing my degree but i just didn't have the heart to tell my parents.

So i chose to keep lying. Which is worse ik.

When they asked, i told them that college was going fine, even faked giving exams, studying, everything.

Now i have given the required exam for the subject i failed in, the results would take about a month to come.

I really don't wanna keep lying to them about going to college, i wanna start afresh from the first year.

But i just Do Not have the heart to tell them.

I know I won't be able to, ever.

The first year for the session has already started,

I need to know if i should ask my counselor if i could just attend classes for the time being and when the results come i would just submit it to him then.

I'm really sorry, i know its a horrible thing to lie, but i just cannot tell the truth, its too bad.

Any advice would do. I just wanted to get it off my chest, i haven't been doing well at all. And this is probably the first time I've ever even mentioned it to anyone, i just don't know what to do.
