Transmission Slipping
So I bought a 2020 Chevy Spark from a dealership about 2 weeks ago, as-is, cash. On Tuesday, it reached almost 100 degrees here and I noticed some hesitation upon acceleration on the way to work. I thought about it for a few hours and then decided to take it for a drive around the block to make sure everything was cool--it wasn't. Accelerating at about 25 mph, I felt the transmission slip and the whole car kind of shuddered. My husband is good with cars, so I had him check the transmission fluid and he says it was fine. I am having him replace the trans fluid and filter, just waiting for the parts to come in. The really weird thing about all of this is that my husband said he needed a long, thin flathead screwdriver to access the fluid. Guess what he found under the hood? A long, thin flathead screwdriver! As if someone else had the same idea. I don't know how the filter looks yet, so I'm not considering it a total loss just yet. Any advice or ideas? I don't really know what to do and I'm scared. I need a car.
