Are these baby red wrigglers?

I’m new to composting and just want to double check before I get too excited. I know I found my first cocoon a while back. I also discovered pot worms just last week, which made sense for the condition at the time and I adjusted accordingly.

There are SO many of these right now, so if they are babies, I’ll be very happy lol. Thanks in advance!

Community tank stocking suggestions

Hiya! I have this empty freshwater 40gal that I’m desperately ready to stock. As far as fish go, I’ve only kept bettas. I’ve never done a community tank before so I’m looking for suggestions of what to keep as a beginner. The tank is heavily planted, has bladder and ramshorn snails, is cycled, can be heated, and has a Fluval FX2 canister filter.

Some things on my radar:

-I live with my dad who is 75, so bright and fun to watch fish would be great. Part of the reason I like fish keeping is because it gives him something to engage with.

-I prefer smaller or nano fish. Maybe some medium sized. I just don’t like the idea of having to deal with a big body when one dies 😅

-Something to help keep the glass clean would be a huge bonus.

Would love some input! I keep going to my local fish stores to see what’s available, but I get so overwhelmed with where to start. Thanks in advance :)

Missing limb and fungal infection

Hi! Cross posting this from the FB group.

I went to my LFS and saw this sick lil guy. Convinced them to give it to me for half off so I could try and treat it. I’ve never had an ADF, but I’ve kept a turtle and fish. I was considering getting some last year, so I know a bit about care from research.

It looks like it’s missing a front limb and has a fungal infection. It was in a tank with guppies and plecos, so my best guess is it was injured, lost the arm, and got infected. None of the other frogs looked infected (although the albino ones looked emaciated tbh).

My questions:

  1. I have kanaplex and neoplex on hand. My understanding is kanaplex is okay at half dose? Is that the best option for this guy? If so, how often should I dose?

  2. Is brine shrimp okay for now? I have some other food on hand, but I can run out tomorrow and get something better if need be.

I’m under no delusions that this guy might not make it, so I’m comfortable euthanizing if that ends up being best. Just wanted to give it a fair chance. If anyone has any other care tips, please let me know! Thanks in advance.
