Okay hear me out, MMCs WITHOUT tattoos?

I never really thought about it because I take it as a given for DR, but are there any books where the MMC doesn’t have any tattoos?

Sounds like a weird request but I want to see the difference in the books that make that choice!!

Is it okay to use a cleansing cloth? Little towel? What are you using as a boat for cleanser?

I’ve been using these washable face cloths forever but I think they’re destroying my skin barrier. They take off makeup with only water. I broke out 2 years ago after a lifetime doing just fine and I’m starting to suspect they’re bad but I don’t know what to switch to.

Help me! MMC breaks FMCs legs and puts her in a basement (I think?)

It’s been forever, but I swear I googled and I feel like I’m hallucinating this book at this point.

Anyway, it’s super dark and MMC breaks FMCS legs (or maybe disables them some other way?) and locks her up in a basement. I remember like one line-ish where he tells her that he’s going to “spread those useless legs” and fuck her.

There’s a lot of non con, but I think that’s implied in the synopsis there.

So I thought all mafia and stalker romance was dark romance (boy was I wrong)

I’ve only been reading dark romance for a year or so, but I came from fantasy and grimdark and horror. just generally heavy themed literature. So I’m good with dark, good with pitch black whatever.

But I made the mistake of assuming all mafia romance was dark romance because it made sense. Organized crime, dark criminal MMCs. You guys, what the hell? Imagine my surprise when five mafia guys “kidnap” a girl just to feed her and buy her a nice house and then get jiggy together. What dark romance? Her saying “wow I shouldn’t enjoy being kidnapped so much” is not… AHH.

And the same thing happened with stalker romance. Stalker=crime=bad. And every other (if not more) book I’ve picked up is “hey I’m creepy because I installed cameras in your house so I can sneak in and feed you and get jiggy with you but only with written and notarized consent”

You can’t just slap a “dark romance” label on any book and call it a day because, idk, marketing? I’ve developed trust issues.
