Incorrect Info

Just realized that I accidentally copied over incorrect info from my passport, specifically sex. I know I f*cked up, but how bad is this? Is my application gonna remain in a purgatory of manual review for up to 24 months? What are my options (i.e., could I contact CBP requesting to withdraw my GE app and resubmit a correct application, and hope for conditional approval within the typical 2 week timeframe)? I know I’d have to pay $120 again but I’d rather do that than wait forever since I do have upcoming international travel.

Incorrect Sex on Application

Just realized that I somehow managed to select the incorrect sex (no, I’m not trans btw) on my GE application that I submitted about a week ago. From what I can gather from the internet, my application will now be subject to manual review — which can take upwards of a year. It’s an innocent mistake so I have no issue explaining it to an officer at an enrollment center interview— the bigger issue is I don’t feel like waiting forever. (I was hoping to be conditionally approved much faster than a year: according to CPB 80% of applications with no discrepancies/missing info are conditionally approved within 2 weeks).

Anyway, what are my options? I know I can’t manually edit info on the portal, since my application has already been submitted/is pending. I’d be willing to pay the $120 fee again if it means I don’t have to wait a year to use GE. Can I contact CPB and have them withdraw my application (and resubmit a new GE application)?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Small piece of plastic

Had to locate my U.S. passport (issued 2023) and noticed this small piece of non adhesive plastic in the priority mail envelope. I can’t remember if it was loose in the envelope or in the passport. Anyone know what it is, and whether I can throw it away?
