Is Mixing and Mastering relevant to LUFS necessary? And where should they sit?

Ive heard in multiple conversations and posts about how spotify drops songs to -14 LUFS and apple music drops them to -16 LUFS etc, but I also read how different genres tend to sit around different LUFS, e.g, hiphop/rap sits around -10 to -8, and dubstep sits around -6 to -3 etc. and not to worry trying to mix or master your songs to -14. Whats the real general outlook on this?

Another things I read about mixing in your vocals to a song, that if when the vocals cut in on the loudest part of the track that if the short term lufs jump up like 3 lufs that the vocals sit too loud. What are your guys' processes for doing the vocals and mastering relevant to LUFS?

First time traveling with 3 kids under 6. Help?

My girlfriend and I are planning on taking our kids on an 18 hour trip. This is my first time driving this far as a dad in my early twenties, and this is our kids first far trip. Any tips to help with the anxiety about the trip? And how to make the drive much easier in the youngins? Thanks!
