Backrooms: Async – Final Release

The Async Research Institute sends expedition teams to map a seemingly infinite labyrinth hidden beyond reality the direction of the enigmatic Ivan Beck. As the project progresses, they discover that this liminal plane is far more dangerous than they ever imagined, filled with impossible architecture, unexplained phenomena, and hostile entities that threaten both the researchers and anyone unfortunate enough to fall into the Backrooms

After several revisions, I'm happy to finally release the definitive version of Backrooms: Async

With the release of Everything Must Go on Kane Parsons' YouTube channel and the digital release of the A24 film, this edit now includes the highest-quality versions of every scene used in the project. I've also made a handful of small refinements to transitions, audio, and pacing to polish the overall experience.

About the Edit

Backrooms: Async is a feature length fan edit that reimagines Kane Parsons' YouTube Backrooms series as a single cinematic narrative designed to serve as a prequel to the A24 film.
The story is presented mostly in chronological order, with the three Found Footage entries edited and intercut alongside the main Async storyline. Since these episodes were originally self contained, restructuring them allowed me to improve the pacing, reduce repetition, and better integrate them into the overarching narrative.
A small number of scenes and lines of dialogue from the A24 film have also been incorporated where they help strengthen continuity with the film without revealing its major story beats. The edit is intended to enhance the experience of the movie rather than replace it, making it an ideal companion piece to watch either before or after the film. (though for people new to this franchise i do suggest watching the A24 film first!)

Music has been added to most scenes using tracks from both Kane's YouTube series and the A24 soundtrack. The only exception is "Warmth" by C418

Included Videos in order:

Overflow
Prototype
The Third Test
First Contact
Fault Line
Light and Tile Survey
Missing Persons
9780415263573
Autopsy Report
Informational Video
Motion Detected
Pitfalls
Found Footage #1
Report
Presentation
Reunion
Simpsons
Found Footage #3
Damage Control
Static Dead End
Everything Must Go
Backrooms (Naren pov)
Home_27647
I remember

Alongside these, the edit features a select number of shots from the A24 film, carefully chosen to connect the two stories while keeping the focus on the Async narrative.

Runtime: 2hrs19min

This version represents the completed vision I originally had for Backrooms: Async, and unless future official Backrooms content significantly expands this era of the story, I consider this project complete.
Thank you to everyone who watched earlier versions and shared feedback throughout development. I hope you enjoy this final release.

Spider-Man FFH/NWH/BND into one film!

Spider-Man Far From Home, No Way Home, and Brand New Day edited into one movie

After finishing my first fan edit, Backrooms: Async, I realized just how much I enjoy the editing process. It was an incredibly fun project to put together, and now I'm looking for another edit that really grabs me in the same way.

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about Tom Holland's Spider-Man films. After watching Spider-Man: Brand New Day, I was reminded how much I enjoy his portrayal of Peter Parker and how naturally the last three films flow into one another. While there's a four year time jump between No Way Home and Brand New Day, the opening montage does a great job bridging that gap, making the trilogy feel surprisingly cohesive.

My goal would be to preserve every major emotional beat and story arc from all three movies while trimming away enough to create a single, cohesive viewing experience. Ideally, I'd like to keep the runtime under four hours and if I can get it even shorter without sacrificing the story, even better.

I already have quite a few ideas for how I'd approach the structure, pacing, and transitions, but this is still very much in the planning stage.

I'd love to hear what the fan editing community thinks. If you've got any ideas, scenes you'd definitely keep or trim, or suggestions for how you'd approach combining these three films, I'd love to hear them.

Backrooms: Async – (Digital Release Update)

Now that the A24 Backrooms film has been released digitally, I've gone back and updated my Async Cut with the highest-quality available footage from the film.

This isn't a major overhaul, but rather a refinement of the existing edit. The overall structure and runtime remain largely the same, as I was already happy with how the story flowed. The main goal of this update was to improve the presentation and make a handful of small edits that I felt enhanced the viewing experience.

What's New

Replaced the footage from the A24 film with the new high-quality digital release

Updated a small audio segment using the HQ audio

Made a handful of tiny transition and pacing adjustments throughout the edit.

Fixed a few minor issues that I noticed after the previous release.

About the Edit

For anyone who missed the original release, this edit is intended to work as a prequel to Kane Parsons' A24 Backrooms film.

The narrative is presented mostly in chronological order, with the three Found Footage entries restructured and intercut with the main Async storyline to create a more cohesive narrative and improve the pacing. Brief scenes, dialogue, and music from the A24 film are woven into the edit where they naturally complement the existing story.
While I consider this version to be the definitive release for now, I'll continue to revisit the project if future official Backrooms content is released that can meaningfully expand or improve the edit.
As always, I'd love to hear any feedback or suggestions from those who watch it. Thanks to everyone who checked out the previous release and shared their thoughts!! It really helped shape this updated version.

DM me for a link to the movie! and if you've already gotten a link from me, the same link will work :)

Backrooms YT series into a 2hr movie

Once Everything Must Go is released on Kane's YouTube channel (about one month from now), I'll be updating this edit with the higher quality footage from the short. I may also make a few additional tweaks before releasing what will likely be the final version of this edit (at least until new Backrooms content is released)

I'm also considering creating a second, more comprehensive cut that combines all of the major story elements from both Kane Parsons' online series and the A24 film into a single feature length experience. The goal would be to create the most complete version of the story possible while keeping the runtime under three hours.

(Update) Kane Pixels Backrooms series edited into 2hr movie - (Everything Must Go Edition)

The Async Research Institute dispatches expedition teams to map a seemingly infinite labyrinth under the direction of the enigmatic Ivan Beck. As the project advances, the researchers begin to realize that this liminal plane of existence is far more dangerous than they imagined. filled with strange phenomena, hostile entities, and the ever-present risk of anyone unfortunate enough to slip into the Backrooms...

This fan edit is designed to work as a prequel to Kane Parsons' A24 Backrooms film

While the edit is mostly presented in chronological order, I've restructured the three Found Footage videos by intercutting them with the main Async storyline. Since the original Found Footage entries are largely self-contained, this approach helps maintain the pacing and prevents the narrative from feeling repetitive, while creating a more cohesive viewing experience

The edit works especially well after watching the A24 film, as it expands on the world and its history. However, it can also be viewed on its own without spoiling the events of Kane's movie

Music has been added to most scenes. The soundtrack is composed almost entirely of music from Kane Parsons' original Backrooms series and the A24 film

The only exception is "Warmth" by C418*, which was chosen because it complements Kane's liminal aesthetic and serves as a subtle callback to his use of* "13" by C418 in the original Found Footage

Brief scenes and dialogue from the A24 film have been incorporated

New Additions for Everything Must Go!
New music has been added throughout, and some small scenes that I had previously cut were edited back in
I've included an edited segment from the new version of the Backrooms that includes the extended 16 minutes of footage
This footage is the perfect gap filler for the series and the movie and it worked great in my edit
Once HD footage of the movie and this new footage release i will remaster my edit again

DM me if you're interested in watching this edit!

if you've already asked for a link in the past then you should already have access to the edit

Runtime: 2:21:25

Kane Pixel YT Backrooms series into 2hr movie

[backrooms](https://www.moviesremastered.com/movieinfo.php?id=12153)

all footage used from Kane Parsons backrooms content

Async sends out expedition teams to map the seemingly infinite complex. However, as the project progresses, they realize this liminal plane of existence is dangerous, filled with bizarre phenomena and hostile entities that threaten the researchers and anyone else unlucky enough to fall into the backrooms on their own...

before watching the backrooms movie i binged Kane's videos on YT, after watching i wanted to try to rework his videos into a more movie like structure, i do think this edit works better after you watch the a24 movie but you can still watch this without spoiling anything from Kane's movie. My Edit, like Kane's series, focuses on the Async corporation and their discovery and early days with the Backrooms and the consequences that follow opening the door to a place like this.

A team of Async researchers returning with footage of a mysterious creature roaming the complex

I used footage from Kane's web series in chronological order however some of the found footage segments are placed into my edit out of order to help with pacing since they are mainly isolated, pretty much everything from Async's perspective with the hazmat teams are entirely chronological. the reason for this is to help with the pacing and to prevent it from becoming repetitive as the 3 found footage videos are pretty much isolated in their original state

I've included songs and brief scenes from the a24 movie into my edit, mostly audio,

I've added music to most of the silent scenes

some of the longer walking sequences are trimmed and cut with music,

I've tried to keep every element from his series that stuck with me and trimmed parts i feel aren't entirely necessary,

Original runtime: ~2hr46m

Edit Runtime ~2hr9m
